On 5.8 School Assignment task: I will start telling who you need to assign tomorrow, then after that probably every other day as people sign up for the challenge. At the first, it will be easier, but as we go on, it will be more difficult. I will try to get to you within 2 days. The only time I may not be able to is on weekends. I am not usually near a computer on Saturday and Sunday, so you may have to wait until Monday. :)

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley
After Dark by Haruki Murakami
Ulysses by James Joyce
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan
Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
The Ice Harvest: A Novel by Scott Phillips
Saturday by Ian McEwan
Where Are the Children? by Mary Higgins Clark
Strangers at the Feast: A Novel by Jennifer Vanderbes
This is Shyness by Leanne Hall
The Infinities by John Banville
A Single Man by Christopher Isherwood
I have been asked for about 5.7 Teeth and Tail. Here is a little clarification that hopefully can help in your searches.
Teeth: the cover does not have to be just teeth, but have some type of teeth showing in the picture:
combs and brushes, someone smiling, an animal with teeth showing.
Tails: again not just a tail, it could be any animal thats tail is showing, a person who may have her hair in a pony tail, a comet, a rocket or plane that leaves a mark like a jet stream.

Nicki, here are some that popped into my head immediately, but I am sure there are a lot more.
Pride and Prejudice & Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Sense and Sensibility & Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters
The Metamorphosis & The Meowmorphosis
or something by Gregory Maguire, like Wicked and the Wizard of Oz.
Feel free to poach books from everyone elses lists too!

Jane Eyre & Jane
Peter Pan & Peter and the Starcatchers
That's really all I can think of for now.

Withering Tights
Prom and Prejudice
Prada and Prejudice
Beastly
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Same name, different book (http://www.librarything.com/topic/19725)

Jessica, it could possibly fill the teeth and tails because my copy has a rabbit on it and you can see its tail. Just make sure to not cut that close in pages on any of the other books.
Sashana, I don't normally think about dragons for Halloween, but if you can't find anything else, I will allow it.

I'm working on my list today and tomorrow. It's been quite the doctor appointment filled week. I'm 5lbs and 3 weeks from getting my hip replaced (aka watch out everyone because I have all the time in the world to read!!).
There are now 2 Megan's so please put you last initial in you posts so we can tell you apart. Thanks.

Did you think of Possession ?

Did you think of Possession ?"
I didn't think of that book, though I read it in high school. I decided to go with a book about an amateur writer for that challenge. Thanks though!
Megan wrote: "And I was wondering if anyone had found a list of books with months in the title? I have put Come September by Arundhati Roy down but not sure that I can't improve the cho..."
I decided to go with The October Country by Ray Bradbury because it's the only one that I'm kind of familiar with.
I'm also considering November of the Heart by Lavyrle Spencer. I don't know if you like romance novels or not, but Spencer's an old-fashioned writer. I enjoyed a couple of her novels, but sometimes her books feel too antiquated to me.

That could be an interesting read - I never realised that this section would turn out hard!
I chose Arundhati Roy because although I had never heard of Come September I keep meaning to read The God of Small Things. Well I guess I'll decide properly when/if I get to it :)

I love the movie. It was shown at my middle school at least twice a year by different teachers. I guess you could say it's a school favorite.

In the Task List (And Rules) thread. Some people put their whole list in a spreadsheet and post it there, and others actually post their lists. The latter is more user friendly if you like to poach choices from others lists. :) I will put you down, and get you partnered up as soon as I can. Welcome to the challenge.

First: Would Look Both Ways: Bisexual Politics and Ways of Dying: A Novel count for 25.4? I dropped the subtitle on the first book, and figured that would be okay, but I just wanted to check before I posted for points :)
Another question: I want to read The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for 20.2. Magician's Nephew is technically a prequel, but was not chronologically published. Does it still count as the first book in the series?
Number 3: For 25.5, my book that takes place over several years is The Dance of the Dissident Daughter, which is a memoir, which would technically cover several years. Do memoirs count too?
There are now 2 Rachels's so please put you last initial in you posts so we can tell you apart. Thanks.
Arianna,
I am fine with your first and third, but decided to let Ashley decide on the second since it was her task for winning the last challenge.
Ashley,
Ariana asked "Another question: I want to read The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for 20.2. Magician's Nephew is technically a prequel, but was not chronologically published. Does it still count as the first book in the series?" Can you let her know if you think this would work for your task?

Sashana, I will allow it to be spelled instead of numeric. I have had a few ask already.
Daisy, I think we did that all under the Uglies thread. I am not sure, but you can post there. Or create a thread for the Specials. :)
