description Introduce Yourself!

Introduce yourself to the group and tell us a little bit about yourself☺ Let us know...

♥You name? (what you would like to be called)
♥Where are you from?
♥Your favorite Genre?
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?
♥Any thing else you would like to share!

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) Kathy,and I'm from New Zealand, a town called Timaru,population about 27thousand.
Genre... mmmm actually I'll read anything as long as it keeps my interest. Am loving PNR at the moment, and have been reading a bit of Susan Mallery, but have traditionally read mysteries, Agatha Christie was always a fav.
I'm a newcomer to Challenges, i think this is my third month, definitely my second, anyway!
Nanna and I are doing this challenge together, she's the reason I'm on Good Reads, even though we live a world apart, we seem to have hit it off and get on pretty well.

message 3: by Katya (last edited Oct 01, 2011 05:39AM) (new)

Katya I am Katya and from Connecticut in the US.

I enjoy PNR, UF,HR, Biography's, Historical Fiction & Suspense/Murder Mysteries. I tend to go on binges though...for about six weeks last year I read every Michael Jackson biography I could get my hands on....then I moved to Highland Historical Romance novels for a month and then to everything James Patterson until I slammed into KMM...see the pattern? But PNR has always been one of my steady eddies.

I am a reluctant newcomer to challenges. I am dipping my toe into the water so-to-speak with this buddy challenge; it just sounded like fun!

I have a very sweet and funny buddy for this first buddy challenge (Carrie)- Her posts makes me laugh and look forward to starting our book together. We chose The Restorer by Amanda Stevens.

I second what Kathy said above...GR brings all sorts of folks together. I have met alot of wonderful people on here.

message 6: by Cindy (last edited Oct 01, 2011 12:41PM) (new)

Cindy (cynx) My name is Cindy, and I'm from Massachusetts. My favorite genre is historical and contemporary romance. I'm pretty new to the challenges, I started in August. Ever since I joined WLSM & RIME, I've been logging on to Goodreads all the time (the challenges is really addicting lol).

I love the idea of having a separate group just for challenges, and I'm looking forward to joining in!

t'irla ~The Bookslayer~ aka Barbara (tirla) My name is t'irla and I'm a Goodreads addict...wait...sorry I thought this thread was Goodreads anonymous *grin*

I'm from Ontario, Canada..this is my first stab at challenges and I have prolly volunteered for too many with different groups..(got smart and tried to use many of the same books:)..

I'm teamed up with Alana for the buddy read and totally looking forward to it...Alana rocks!!!..we seem to read at the same speed so this is gonna be great:)...

Ironically enough- Alana Rock (said like ah-lawn-uh and Rock like rock 'n roll) is my legal name, Howdy from Texas! I adore PNR, UF, and horror, although UF is likely my largest category, but I will dabble in other genres based on recommendations, or something just really looking good. I have only been on Goodreads for a few months, but quickly started joining challenges. Some I finish, usually ones that I don't are due to lack of fitting/finding a book to fill a category. I've averaged about 3 challenges for each of the last two months, but I think this month I've ended up signing up for five. And there's that seasonal challenge...

message 9: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Hello. My name is Michelle and I am doing my reading from the greater Seattle area. I love reading all kinds of fiction and I find that challenges help me to narrow down what book I will read next. I love love love used book sales and tend to give away or trade most all of my books when I am done reading them.

message 12: by Alison (new)

Alison (glimmeringgirly) Hey there i'm Ali and i'm from Edinburgh, Scotland! I joined Good Reads in May and have been addicted to it ever since. My favourite genre's are PNR, urban fantasy, and crime. I try to use my local libray as much as possible, and only buy books that they don't have. I haven't progressed to e-books yet, though i keep dithering over whether to get one so will probably get around to it eventually. I adore book challenges and looking forward to getting involved in even more! My challenge list in RIME is essential to me, keeps me organised!

So glad to see everyone is joining and jumping right in! Let us know if there are any questions and concerns☺

message 14: by Nanna -DD- (new)

Nanna -DD- Kathy told me to stop being a snob an introduce myself ;)

so here goes. I'm an outgoing girl from Denmark (Scandinavia), who just turned 25. At the moment I'm a bit busy with my final exams at school. But when I get time to read, I'll read just about anything, as long as there's some romance in it, although PNR and UF are my fav. If there's anything you wanna know, feel free to ask ;D

message 15: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisaameek) Hii, I'm Lisa :3 I'm from Durham, England. I'm 16 (17 in a week!). I'll read almost anything. I've just started doing reading challenges and they're a good way to keep me reading (even when I have exams & assessments I could be revising for)

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) Lisa, you are as naughty as Nanna!!

message 17: by Emy (last edited Oct 02, 2011 03:24AM) (new)

Emy (emypt) 1. I'm Emy, well Melanie in full but I got fed up with people shortening it to Mel... :)
2. Originally from Surrey, south of London. Married a northern irish man and currently stuck up in Manchester...
3. Um, hard to say what my favourite genres are since they vary quite a bit. In fiction I usually prefer something not from the real world to be more escapist, whether that is being from another period in history, SciFi, pure fantasy or having Paranormal elements. I also read a fair bit of non-fic, usually relating to Medieval history.
4. I think I would still count as a newcomer to challenges :)
5. I'm an aspie and a librarian, so I have access to books, a need to categorise, and a big fail at RL social interactions :) I am also a BIG MMORPG-er... :P

♥You name? (what you would like to be called)
My name is Alexandra, but i am called Alex. My screen name is Ancameni (which is short for Anna Catherine, Megan Nicole=my daughters names)
♥Where are you from?
Originally i am from Germany but i got married and live now in Kansas.
♥Your favorite Genre?
Before Kindle, it used to be suspense and thriller, mystery. Now with Kindle i broadened quite a bit to UF, PNR etc. Currently i do enjoy a good UF.
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer?
I am a Newbie. The RIME Fall2011 Challenge is the second one i participate. Really quite fun.
♥Any thing else you would like to share!
I do like to share. I like to talk about some of the books i read, but most of my thriller writers like Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, Val Mcdermid nobody in my circle has read them. I bought myself a Kindle for my birthday last year and it was the best decision i have ever made.

Hello to everyone. Looking forward to challenge and read with you \.

message 19: by Paris (new)

Paris Jordan (parisamberjordan) Hello all, my name is Paris. I live in England and currently a student at University so I live both up north (in Hull) and over holidays live down south (in West Sussex).
I initially used this website to log the books I had read in order to push myself to read more and to find new books to read. Only recently have I started to both join and play an active role in the groups and I must say, I'm enjoying it very much.
I love paranormal fiction, but I do enjoy non-fiction as well, usually along the lines of educational and philosophical books. Anything that can explain the world I live in and the way people act I suppose.

Oh and more importantly, like Tegan, I love my Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Have done ever since I watched my first episode (I think I was like 12?) and have converted many people over the years. What can I say? Joss Whedon is amazing.

Looking forward to taking part in more challenges with you all.

message 23: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Hi, my name is Paris and I might have a slight addiction to reading books and doing these GR challenges, which pretty much mean this group is perfect for me. Oddly enough though, I'm fairly new to the whole challenge thing, but I kinda get obsessed with things I like once I realize I like them.

I'm from the Seattle area and I typically read mostly UF and PNR both adult and YA, but I like to throw in some other stuff like mysteries and thrillers. I am, however, not a big fan of what people call chick lit. I'm always looking for recommendations on books to read even though my TBR pile is at 100+ books at the moment.

I look forward to taking part in all of these challenges with you all. Happy reading!!

NhaughtyV says Damn the Zon Save the Reviews (nhaughtyv) Hello everyone!! All my friends call me V or Roni & I am totally addicted to the written word! I'm not so great at challenges, but have been giving it a try in the RIME group...FYI, RIME has an awesome group of gals & I highly recommend everyone to join the party!!

A little about me, I'm from West-By-God-Virginia, and married to my high school sweetheart. We have one son, who will be 8 years old this weekend...*SNIFF*SNIFF* I also have a black cat that I have nicknamed Satan because he is soooo freakin' EVIL!!! He gets worse as he gets older! Ugh!

As to books, I will read just about anything, but my weakness is for anything vamps, and I do get easily distracted by any naughty stories my Whycked tells me to read ;)

I see so many of my GR friends here, and I know we will have great fun :D

Jackie | 6 comments Hi everyone, I'm Jackie from New York. PNR/UF are my favorite genres, but I'm finding myself more and more interested in reading other types of romances. Historical in particular. I'm also a big fantasy fan.

I'm still kind of a newcomer to challenges, though I do love to participate. I find they're very helpful for selecting books to read and knocking down the tbr list. Though, no matter how much I read it just keeps growing!

I just joined Goodreads earlier this year and I'm completely addicted. It's such a great community and I love all the book recommendations. It's really made me branch out in my reading and discover worlds of books I would have overlooked otherwise.

Looking forward to chatting more with you guys, feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. :D

R.L. Mathewson (rlmathewson) Hi : )
I'm R.L. I enjoy enjoy all genres of romance. My favorite depends on what kind of a mood I'm in. Right now I'm in a paranormal mood.

I'm a newcomer to challenges. I saw this link and thought it sounded like fun.

I love reading. When I was a kid I was the typical bookworm with my nose in a book. I kind of got away from that when I went to college, but slipped back into old habits a few years ago and loved it so much that I thought I'd give it a shot and try my hand at writing. I'm looking forward to this group : )

I love the challenges ~ helps me kinda organize what I'm gonna read for the month/season depending on the challenge. I enjoy all genres of romance ~ lately I've been in a PNR kick. I have an 11 yr old son who just started Middle School (sniff, sniff ~ where does the time go?!?) and a 9 yr old daughter.
To all you wonderful MODS (don't know how you find the time but I'm grateful) the site looks fabulous. Can't wait til I have more time to check out all the challenges!!

Shannon Hello everyone! My name is Shannon and I'm from San Diego, the land of too much sun :) I really don't have a favorite genre but I go through periods where I'll lean to certain things. Besides reading anything Jane Green at the moment (even though I've read basically all of it), I'm trying to go through stuff I wasn't required to read in high school but others were. I didn't get to read "Frankenstein" because dumb AP English read "The Things They Carried" instead. Wasn't a fan if anyone's interested. I'm a newcomer to challenges. Working on the October one right now for RIME. But I'd like to do one now and then :)

Hi everyone. First of all thanks to Shell for the invite.

My name is Carolyn, and I live in Hawaii w/ my husband and our 4 kids. My favorite genres to read are PNR and (thanks to Shell:)) Contemporary Romance. When I first joined GR, I joined only one challenge, but within the past 2 months or so, I've become obsessed. Again I blame Shell;-) (LOL)

Looking forward to having a great time in this group.

message 42: by Jeanine (new)

Jeanine (jneen277) Hi all, my name is Jeanine. I'm from NYC, born and raised and I spend my daily commuting reading. I definitely prefer paranormal romance more than anything else, but I'm not a genre snob. I'll read what calls to me :)

I'm definitely a challenge newbie. I know my goodreads count is not the same as my actual book count for the year, but I keep a blog with a list of books that I've read throughout the year. I started doing that when I reread a couple books :) I'm currently on 82/125, I hope to surpass the books read amount than I did last year.

I'm looking forward to stepping into a challenge :)

I live just outside of Sheffield, UK.
Totally addicted to PNR and UF since the Twilight films.
Only just joined GR last month and thanks to Shellbelle I've just joined my first 2 challenges over the last couple of days (sooooooo giddy..giddy..giddy).
I'm 25 and live with my partner and I'm a full time mum to our 3 children Brooke(8), Paige(6) and Bailey(4). I'm a little (or lot) obsessed with reading and music, if I haven't got a book in my hand i'll be listening (and singing) to the ipod :-).

Thanks for the invite to this Shellbelle and hi to all
