It's time for October's Monthly Challenge! This Thread is where we post our official lists and update our progress.

A big THANK YOU to those who contribute to the Suggestions Thread! The monthly input is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

1. "O" is for October: Read a book which title or author's name (first or last) starts with "O".

2. Happy Birthday!: Read a book from an October birthday celebrant's GR bookshelf whose "day" falls on the same "day" as yours. If no one has the same day, chose someone with the closest day to yours. October Birthday List

3. Geography: Read a book whose author, character or setting is from Utah

4. Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Read a book that is Chick-lit or Women's Fiction, a book with a character dealing with cancer or a book with a strong female lead ("strong" can encompass physical, mental and/or emotional strength) *A virtual high-five for a book with a pink cover.

5. Reading Group Month: Read a book with at least one other person. It could be a fellow GR friend (i.e. Buddy Read), an outside book club or just a friend.

6. National Grouch Day: Read a book with a "surly" or "difficult" character.

7. First Day of Autumn: Read a book set in the Fall, with the word 'Autumn' in the title or with at least 2 Autumn colors on the cover (red, orange, yellow, green, or brown)

8. World Food Day: Read a book that is set in the food industry, a book with a character that works is the food industry or a book with food on the cover.

9. Happy Halloween!: Read a book with a character, or subject matter, that is also a typical, old-fashioned Halloween costume (witch, ghost, vamp, princess, fairy, cowboy, firefighter etc, etc...). Please post your costume of choice.

10. Reader's Choice: Read a book, any book. The decision is all yours.
