Stephen (havan) SM has Bella fast forward through the opening credits of the 1960's version of Romeo & Juliet. That has always bugged me a bit. No one would fast forward though the opening credits of that film as the famous "two families" speech (narated by Lawrence Olivier) starts the film and continues while the opening credits roll. Fast forwarding through that speech would be sacrilige.

Its OK by me but then I am not the fan of Shakespeare that you are.

Stephen (havan) I'm guessing that it was just a snafu of SM's She probably didn't recall exactly HOW the film opened and didn't bother to research it when she was writing. It's just that gliches like this pull me out of the story a bit when I encounter them. It's little details that can make or break one's envelopment in the narrative. I've gone so far as to think of blacking out the last bit of the "fast forwarding line" and rewriting it as fast forwarding through coming attractions on the DVD.

Wish I knew how to do that on DVD as I am so very tired of the previews. I also often get up and walk out of the room just as James comes on as he is so scary. But I am writing about Twilight which I have watched twice as much as New Moon.

Stephen (havan) It varies from DVD to DVD but often the Next Chapter button will allow you skip previews.

I can skip them if I click the button just right but sometimes our old system doesn't want to work.
