I don't know what it was exactly, but I finally caved and started reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It seems like a great murder mystery, and I'm just getting into it. It'll take a lot for it to live up to the hype, but I'm optimistic it'll at least be a satisfying read.

Let us know what you're reading now!

Ann (annrumsey) | 31 comments I finished the Stieg Larsson trilogy on my Kindle and think they are great books, enjoy! I just downloaded my second Kindle library book to my K2 (since they don't have a ton or new releases, an older Linda Howard romantic suspense) and simply love the library lending feature! In Print I am reading The Cut and listening to Rules of Civility

M.A. Comley (melcom) | 3 comments @Melissa I loved The Bone Collector.

I'm reading Michael Wallace's The Red Rooster at the moment. ;-) It's based in France during the second world war. I live close to the Normandy Landing Beaches so it's an intriguing read for me.

J.M. Pierce | 1 comments I just finished Monique Martin's "When the Walls Fell". LOVED IT!

I'm now finishing up The Prodigal Son by Dean Koontz. I have to say that it isn't quite living up to what I'd hoped it would be. It's the first book in the series though, and I'm definitely going to read the second to see what happens.

In the evenings, I'm reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone with my eight year old son. What a great book!I'm also reading Prince Caspian to my six year old. LOVE C.S. Lewis!

Melissa Harris I just finished #7 of 9 of the Myron Bolitar series by Harlan Coben. I'm just getting ready to start Whiteout by Ken Follett. It will be my first Follett and I picked it because 1. it looks really interesting, and 2. it's not nearly as huge as Pillars of the Earth, Fall of Giants, or World Without End, all of which I want to read .. but thought I'd ease myself in and make sure I like him.

message 6: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Harris Loved the Larsson trilogy. His character development is unmatched, imo. Wish there were more...

Jennifer Reeves (barefootdokusha) On the Kindle I am reading the 2nd book in the Ember series (People of Sparks?) for my library checkout, for what I own I am reading Wolf Mark. In print I am reading The Power of Six, but I think I'm going to go ahead and take it back to work and let someone else check it out since I also have The Maze Runner and Paranormalcy checked out. I'd much prefer to have them on the Kindle...sooo....if you have it to lend.... :) I haven't checked out all the sections on the discussion but would like to post my list of lendables and want to reads.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 9 comments I have a ton of SK books but haven't read half of them, I have watched the movie IT but never read it so I should read IT for Halloween. :)

Looks like everybody is a King fan! I've torn through a few, and they've been great fun. But I've been veering more toward the YA stuff lately.

22% done and you have to bring it back? There isn't any way to renew it?? :(

Shari*LoveMiKindle* I'm reading a YA book, Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen, who has become one of my favorite YA authors.

message 26: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 31 comments Terri - my advice, do what it takes to get it again! (I love the Reacher books!)
Did your library offer different options for the lending period for Overdrive Kindle lending? Mine offers 7, 14 or 21 day periods.

My library only offers the 7 or 14 day option. I use the 14 day. My loan expired this morning around 3am (according to the email I received) but what I've done is turned off the WiFi/3G on both my Kindles so that I can continue to read Die Trying. As long as I don't turn my WiFi, I should be good. :-)

message 28: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 31 comments Terri - great idea!! It should work! I returned a Kindle library book and got notice it was gone pretty quickly - I should have left the wireless off and watched for what happened then.

message 31: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) Oh, yeah. I like to keep things different. I can't even read the same auther....even one I absolutely love, back to back....I can get tired of a genre or author very quickly and then have to take a break from it/them.
