I've just started The Hunger Games series. I like it so far, although I've only just finished book 1.

As far as Twilight goes, I loved the story but have to agree with Stephen King, the writing was horrible. The stalking, and the weak female character (yes, please Edward, tell me what to do, I don't have a mind of my own). I prefer strong willed, smart, independant female characters.
Hunger games is pretty good. I was never really one for 1st person storytelling, but I was drawn in enough to get past that. I'll definitely be reading the 2nd and 3rd books.
So ... Twilight - good story, terrible writing.
The Hunger Games - good story (so far), good writing.

sucks...!

I agree. I'm not one in my actual life that follows a man around and expects to live my life based on him. It seemed the only time that Bella actually did rebel was for another guy. I loved the basic ideas for the story, but I think Bella's character could use a little work. Plus it seemed like the writing was at a fith grade level, with highschool content. I don't exactly know how I feel about that. I loved the action in the hunger games, but as the series went on I began to like it less and less, but I am the type of person that usually likes the first book the best so it could very likely be my opinion. I liked that she was a strong willed person who could fight for herseld, and in many instances better than anyman could. But, hey that's my opinion! You should read both series though they are great.
