Diane | 13052 comments Just for fun, here is a quiz to determine what kind of reader you are:

http://www.gotoquiz.com/what_kind_of_...

I am apparently a "Dedicated Reader", but very close to being an "Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm"

message 2: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 438 comments I'm a dedicated reader...but some of those questions need to be tweaked for e-readers...lol!

Tanya (aka ListObsessedReader) (listobsessed) | 166 comments I am a 'Literate Good Citizen' which is closely followed by 'Dedicated reader', 'Book Snob' and 'Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm' apparently :) lol!

Jayme Pendergraft | 43 comments I'm a dedicated reader but it's closely followed by a tie between literate good citizen and obsessive compulsive bookworm. Cute quiz- thanks Diane.

I'm also a dedicated reader, and I agree! :)

a few times I came up with my own answers ;) for example: 10. When you arrive at your vacation destination and the airline tells you they lost your luggage, you think: "Thank God I have a e-reader (which of course I keep in my carry on luggage)" ;)

message 10: by Robyn (new)

Robyn | 91 comments Literate Good Citizen almost tied with Dedicated Reader and closely followed by Obsesive-Compulsive Bookworm! :) Good fun.

Connie G (connie_g) | 934 comments I'm a Dedicated Reader, closely followed by Literate Good Citizen.
Fun quiz, Diane.

message 13: by Pepita (new)

Pepita | 240 comments Seems I am a Literate Good Citizen which was marginally ahead of Dedicated and Obsessive compulsive.....and I would have to agree that I did read a lot of the classics during school and university years and read much more broadly now; depending on the mood or current pace of life am comfortable with anything from chick lit, romance, murder, saga, adventure, action, more classics, historical or biographical. Fun quizz although wasn't quite truthful about the groups that I was supposed to have read ALL from ...seems I had read about three quarters from each group!

message 14: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 274 comments Dedicated Reader, I definitely try to broaden my range in books nowadays.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

"Literate Good Citizen" here.

message 16: by Samantha McNulty (new)

Samantha McNulty Your Result: Dedicated Reader
You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more.

So true!

message 17: by mstan (new)

mstan | 130 comments I'm an unfortunate Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm: "You're probably in the final stages of a Ph.D. or otherwise finding a way to make your living out of reading. You are one of the literati. Other people's grammatical mistakes make you insane."

I'm not planning on getting a Ph.D. though...

Antje གརས པཅ Parker | 27 comments What Kind of Reader Are You?
Your Result: Literate Good Citizen
You read to inform or entertain yourself, but you're not nerdy about it. You've read most major classics (in school) and you have a favorite genre or two.
Result Breakdown:
93% Literate Good Citizen
88% Dedicated Reader
74% Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm
45% Fad Reader
45% Book Snob
0% Non-Reader

I found some of the answers that were provided and even one of the situations stupid and too specific

message 19: by Courtney (last edited Jan 20, 2012 04:03PM) (new)

Courtney | 120 comments I got "dedicated reader", apparently I make the world a better place. My second place was book snob, actually I used to be one before I grew up a bit.

"You're probably in the final stages of a Ph.D. or otherwise finding a way to make your living out of reading. You are one of the literati. Other people's grammatical mistakes make you insane."

Other than being a scientist with no interest in pursuing a literary career, I would say it is fairly accurate.

Sue | 21 comments I seem to be a Dedicated Reader, followed closely by Book Snob and Literate Good Citizen.

message 31: by Claire (new)

message 34: by Kathlyn (last edited Aug 20, 2012 12:43PM) (new)

Kathlyn | 21 comments I'm an obsessive-compulsive bookworm

In order: Dedicated reader, book snob, literate good citizen.

"You're probably in the final stages of a Ph.D. or otherwise finding a way to make your living out of reading. You are one of the literati. Other people's grammatical mistakes make you insane."

I didn't answer the question about standing in a PO queue - I avoid situations where I have to queue like the plague!

Edit: Amanda you sound like me - another scientist! The result is probably pretty accurate. I am a compulsive reader - I have piles of books everywhere but I do tend to read more serious stuff. I hate chic lit / romance and I rarely, if ever, watch movies - certainly not of books I love as they always tinker with the story line. I have a vivid image in my mind of the characters and I hate that image to be messed with!

message 35: by Ellinor (new)

Ellinor (1001andmore) | 852 comments I'm a Dedicated Reader. But I'm not surprised by that result. Lol

message 36: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (catjackson) I'm an obsessive-compulsive bookworm!! Not much of a surprise. Loved the question that asked what you would do if you were caught in a long line - I'd pull out my smart phone and catch up on one of the books I'm currently reading! Sometimes I even look for the longer line so I can catch up on some reading...I know, that sounds really weird!

message 37: by Donna (new)

Donna (donnareadstheworld) | 474 comments Dedicated Reader, also followed closely by Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm!

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Donna's description. I am a "Dedicated Reader." I am a mood reader also. Although I'm reading all of the time, I will start maybe four or five books. Then, one of the punch will call me to not stop reading it. Then, my heart belongs to that book until it's finished. I am a Bibliophile. I love, love books. Without reading a book in a day is like a day without sunshine. I must read books daily. I always find the time in some way.

LindaJ^ (lindajs) Literate Good Citizen - 88%
Dedicated Reader - 85%
Book Snob - 82%
Obsessive-Compulsive Bookworm - 78%
Fad Reader - 5%

Having a Kindle sure helps when the luggage is lost and the line long! I read all the books in school but had also read all of the series listed except The Name of the Rose! Guess that kept me from a higher Fad Reader score!

message 50: by Michael (new)

Michael (micky74007) literate good citizen 83%
