Brittany Mishra (brittanymishra) | 29 comments Bram Stoker is the Irish author that I want to read for the challenge and I was wondering if anybody would be interested in creating a group discussion on Dracula during October (the perfect month, right?).

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 253 comments Well, well, I would love to read the book but can't say about October 2012. Who knows where I would be, doing what!

Sue Brittany, I may be interested in this. It's not one of my "52" selections, but I've never read it. I liked seeing Nosferatu and the ?John Malkovich version. I'll put a reminder in my calendar.

I've actually never seen any Dracula movie. I know it's strange, right? But I've wanted to read it ever since a friend recommended it a few years ago.

True, true. I would say this is tentative and there's no obligation. I know that I want to read it for the challenge, but if another date works better, I'm very willing to change the month.

KayG | 5 comments I would like to read this with you -I've been wanting to read this for along time

message 11: by Gussie (new)

Gussie (a_reader_1) | 68 comments I'm in too! What month is it finally going to be then?

And oooh! Will this go under 'Transylvania'? :D

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 1309 comments Some have it under Romania.

Let me know when you have a week (or month) selected for sure so I can add it to the calendar!

message 13: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Mishra (brittanymishra) | 29 comments Alright. I have a flexible schedule when it comes to reading for the challenge. So whoever wants to read Dracula with this group just vote for the month that you think would work the best. I'll tally up the months. Whichever month gets the most votes will win! However, let's leave January out since it is short notice, but February through December 2012 is free game.
For your vote, just write a reply to this post with your month.

message 14: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 253 comments March or April

Er - going to be a little busy in March and April. Don't think I'd want rather disturbing books as bedtime reads. :P How about any time after May?

message 16: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 49 comments I've got Dracula too - I can work it out to read pretty much any month. Sorry, that wasn't helpful :)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 60 comments not feb please!

message 18: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Mishra (brittanymishra) | 29 comments Alright...How about June?

message 19: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Mishra (brittanymishra) | 29 comments Is anybody still interested? Does June sound like it would work?

message 20: by Gussie (new)

Gussie (a_reader_1) | 68 comments I am fine with June. It's a good enough month for bizarre and spooky tales. :P

message 21: by Sue (new)

Sue I think I can. I'll be reading A Fine Balance too so not totally sure. As long as it's a month-long read, I can probably join in.

message 22: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Mishra (brittanymishra) | 29 comments I'll make it a month long read. We can have discussions throughout the month of June or we can start our discussions at the end of June.

message 23: by Sue (new)

Sue That sounds good Brittany.

message 24: by Susan (new)

Susan | 83 comments I may be able to do June. I am reading Dracula with another group and it is rapidly coming up but I am a bit behind in the group so I am looking at April-May-June. It depends on if I have to read The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Vol. 1first or not I think.

message 25: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 60 comments Has anyone remembered we were going to read this this month? I had forgotten. I may be able to audiobook it next week, so let me know if anyone else is reading it or I'll listen to something else (I have two audiobooks waiting already)

message 26: by Sue (new)

Sue Completely forgot. I have so many books going right now. I may be able to read it in 2 weeks.

message 27: by Susan (new)

Susan | 83 comments Totally forgot about this. I read it several months ago for another group.

message 28: by Parsa (new)

Parsa | 101 comments i might b able to fit this in though i have plans to read a lot this mnth

message 29: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 60 comments Shall we postpone then?

message 30: by Sue (new)

Sue I really can't read it for a while, but don't wait for me if you find a good time. I'll try to work it in if I can.

message 31: by Parsa (new)

Parsa | 101 comments I downloaded the audiobook yesterday, just in case I wont be able to read it but can manage to listen to it this month.

What shall we do? Suzie, are you and me only people here who are to read it now? Where are others? If its just us for us, we can accommodate Sue, for whenever she can read it?

message 32: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 60 comments I have in on cd so I am happy to wait - I have a ton of books to read anyway, do a hold on this would be good for me too

message 33: by Susan (new)

Susan | 83 comments Just an FYI that Idiscovered by happy accident ... if you plan to watch either the new Dark Shadows or either of the TV series, read Dracula. first.

message 34: by Sue (new)

Sue Looks like everyone is overbooked (pun intended) right now.

message 35: by Parsa (new)

Parsa | 101 comments Ah! Which month do we choose then? Back to oct again or read it sooner than that?

message 36: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Mishra (brittanymishra) | 29 comments Sorry, but I haven't been on Goodreads in awhile. I completely forgot about this discussion group and I'm reading so many other books right now...If anybody wants to salvage this group feel free.

message 37: by Sue (new)

Sue Any decision made? Shall we move it back to October?

message 38: by Parsa (new)

Parsa | 101 comments oct wud suit me i suppose

message 39: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 60 comments I'll try with October.

message 40: by Sue (new)

Sue OK

message 41: by Sue (new)

Sue Just checking to see if anyone else is planning to read Dracula this month. It seems to have become lost in all the reading shuffles. I think I'll try to fit it in before the end of the month.
