Haha. I know what it's like to not like grammar. Believe me, I'm not totally amazing at it either, but we'll work on it and we'll all get better. I am willing to put money on the fact that you are not the only one in class not happy about the emphasis on grammar. It just takes practice.
I understand that grammar can feel very separated from the content we discuss in class, but understanding grammar will make you a better writer. It will also help you appreciate the pieces of literature you read.
It'll all work out :0)

{hope your right Ms. Rodriguez and we do become better writers and your not just making us work hard =]}

Marek, I totally understand your concern. I just didn't want to hold your class back just because we are new together. That is why we voted on Wednesday to see what we would do.
Either way, we will spend the first 5 minutes of class working on the essay and then venturing down to the media centre to watch the movie. The movie is in no way mandatory, so if you would like to sit in the media centre and work on your essay you are more than welcome to do so.
Happy Report Card Pickup,
~Ms. R
