Heather Doherty | 96 comments My husband drives for a living and has become addicted to audio books. We have been hitting the library and browsing which has worked out fairly well. His taste is somewhat different from my own. He tends toward epic fantasy (Robert Jordan, Raymond Feist), he also likes darkly funny (Chuck Palahniuk, Christopher Moore) and crime fiction and suspense (Elomore Leonard, Michael Crichton). Does anyone have any recommendations for him? We are also looking for sources for audiobooks. Does anyone know anything about smartphone apps for listening to them or ways to search for them?

Theresa Right now I am re-readingTimeline. Not my usual genre, but as a historian I find it fascinating.

The Last Child

The Kate Atkinson Jackson Brodie series.

Check out Richard Russo my favorite to date is Straight Man.

Timeline is a fun read and kind of a fun movie.

Theresa Gretchen, I LOVE Straight Man and re-read it only slightly less than Gone With the Wind. And I didn't know that there was a movie version of Timeline.

Andrea | 67 comments My husband likes James Lee Burke - especially the ones read by Will Patton. They are about New Iberia Parish in New Orleans - The are cop mysteries.
