Jon (jonreisfeld) | 12 comments What indie authors do you think are up-and-coming talents but under-appreciated (have yet to 'break through)? List up to ten in each of the following categories (no self mentions, please!) and let's see if we can get a conversation going. Here are the categories:
1. Sci-Fi/Horror
2. Historical Fiction
3. Romance
4. Paranormal
5. Young Adult
6. Literary
7. Suspense/Thriller

Great question. I don't read all those genres but I've come across great new indie writers in a couple of areas.

SPECULATIVE FICTION

Lynna Merrill, who only started publishing this year, but has three books out already, starting with The Seekers of Fire. Fantasy adventure.

Steven J. Pemberton, whose first book Death & Magic is a fantasy/mystery novel. I've been lucky enough to read the sequel ahead of publication, and it's shaping up to be a really good series.

Keryl Raist, whose first novel Sylvianna is badged 'fantasy/erotica' and has a sequel and a prequel in the works.

SUSPENSE/THRILLER

Melissa F. Miller, whose first novel Irreparable Harm is a fast-paced legal thriller. (Sequel due shortly.)

Patrick Reinken, whose books include the international thriller Glass House and Omicron, the start of a promising new series.

And more to the point, who are your favourites? :)

Good question:) I truly haven't read enough to be able to answer that, because I've been focused more on writing and promoting my own work. I'm hoping to learn where to spend my reading time based on what you more serious book bloggers recommend.
