Her Royal Orangeness (onlyorangery) Question: Would this be totally separate from our tracking for AtWi80? I mean, for example, could I read one book set in France for the 1001 challenge and a different book set in France for the AtWi80 challenge? I'm wondering because only 8 of the 80 books I have planned for AtWi80 are 1001 books, but I will most likely read other books throughout the year that are 1001.

Also, I assume the "one book per country" rule would still apply?

This is a great idea and I'd love to participate...although it may take me until I die to actually be successful. ;)

The rules are very loose. You can use the same or different books that you use with the other challenges. You can also visit the same countries as often as you like. There are also no time limits. It is really just reading the 1001 books from a traveling perspective and logging the destinations we have read along the way.

Her Royal Orangeness (onlyorangery) Ok, thanks, Diane! Sounds nice and easy. :) I'll set up my thread sometime this week.

Kite Runner ought to be on the list, but isn't. Same with A Thousand Splendid Suns. They are both such great books.

Sarah | 662 comments I read Splendid Suns a few months ago and I loved it.

The first book in series by Alex Rutherford, called Raiders from the North, plays mainly in Afghanistan - at a guess, about 60%. The rest of the book plays mostly in Pakistan. There are 2 other books in the series, which I ave not read yet. The story plays in the late 15th and early 16th century, and is based on historical data.

Alondra Miller Question:

Diana, are you able to move the #2 & #3 conversation response on my Alondra's ATW in 1001 Books" down a few spots, so I can use the first 3 spots to annotate on my list??
Or do I have to start over to claim those first 3 spots?
Thanks
