I don't think so. I think they both knew at that point that a romantic relationship would never work, and it would have just been melodramatic for them to kiss. I really like how they said each others true names, though. I thought that was more intimate and more appropriate for their situation

Huh, half brothers, both fall in love with people who then become queens. WEIRD!

Now, i do agree with your point of view of that aspect. I agree, but also disagree. It was very intimate that they did tell each others true names, but Christopher could have put a more supensful cliff hanger in there. I do think that there should be another book after this one though! it seems that it hasn't fully ended and your hanging off your seat to see what will happen next, even though there will be no 'next'. Once again, i do approve of some of your aspects towards the subjects, but they should have done something more than just say their true names..... What about Sapphira and Firnen?? That is another discussion to talk about later though. Perhaps i will make another discussion with those two. :) Happy Reading!

Agreed. There should have been something other than the both of them holding hands... i mean come on. So juvinile. You pretty much tell each other your feelings and then stand there and never do anything over the next month or two even though you see each other almost every day in that time span. and the way she left the boat... ugh. This IS a rant apparently. wasn't my intention but there it is.

They have eternity yet to live. Plus, Christopher has confirmed that he will write other books taking place in Alagaesia and he did say that we will see Eragon and Arya in one or two of them. I'm sure they will end up together but not for many years.

!SPOILER ALERT!
Agreed, agreed. But, if you have read Christopher's new newsletter, he said that in the new books (soon to be coming out!) ,since they are immortal, they will have a lot of time to get to know each even more over the years. And he said that Arya and Eragon will be seeing each other again! YEAH!!!

Hey, thanks for getting into the discution.... but anyway, if you singed up on his website to get newsletters, you should have gotten one.....

YAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!

UH... haha, yeah i knew that they weren't going to kiss at the end, b/c it would be out of Arya's character, and i also knew that Arya would get the green dragon... there was a lot of foreshadowing for that to happen... so yeah.... what did you think?

Well i think your computer must have froze or something because there are a lot of identical responses. lol. I knew about the green dragon and arya. that was simple but i was expecting more after they expressed their feelings and then had i think like a month or two after that, that nothing else happened between them. It wasn't a, im telling you this on the boat while casting off so nothing can ever happen between us; it was a, i tell you and see you a lot afterwards and still do nothing and never bring it up until that night. pitiful. I mean, a kiss right before her dragon took her would have made the most since. Just a simple peck on the lips as a final goodbye. Not a makeout session or anything.

The last couple of chapters seemed really rushed and did not have the grip that the rest of the book had.
Overall a very good book and I'll likely reread more than once.

Well, I do agree with you except for maybe ONE little thing... I actually loved the ending. I don't feel as if it were rushed at all... I felt as if Christopher was trying to portray that life goes on, and while the STORY of Eragon, Arya, and the Rise of the Riders ended, a new chapter in their lives began. (whew that sounded cheesy!)

That's true... took me a while until I got over it :(

maybe that will something he writes about in the future but first Murtagh has to stop hating the world...

Cam Browder+Vala Mal Doran=Love! (Deborah) wrote: "And I really want to know what their true names are!!! I mean, they go through all this searching to try to figure them out, and then WE don't get to know them??? ..."
Christopher has said before that he will never write someones true name into a book. True names are no small joke

Well, she kissed him on the forehead once.

When did Arya ever admit she has feelings for Eragon? Remember she told Eragon 'maybe in time'. She didn't say that she loved him like the way he loved her but I do believe she's halfway there, just not there completely. I think that after Eragon has matured and stuff and when he finally sees Arya again, that will definitely be when they get together.

I agree about the name thing, but you should just be glad he wrote the book at all.

YOU LIKED IT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Are you crazy?

Well, she kissed him on the forehead once."
That's true.

And don't forget that one elven guy that she liked. You know, the one that Durza the shade killed in the first book?

yeah i totally agree! i was all excited that we got to hear their true names and then i was all sad that i got excited for nothing

We knew that Arya had come to love Eragon and that was enough. They both also knew that a relationship would never work and to take it further would only make it harder.
And plus, if they had kissed or something, I would have stopped reading and set the book on fire.

Seriously. The most I've ever done is when I punched my book. I would never throw it across the room, no offense.
