This is my first year setting a reading goal and I didn't want to take on more than I can handle. Since I work a full-time job, I can only read on my lunch hour, in the evenings before I go to bed, and on the weekends.
I decided on a goal of 40 for the year. I know that sounds so lame compared to other people. If I'm able to read more, I'll up the # for next year.

Yeah, it's not lame. Some people are busier than others or just read slow. It's a challenge for yourself, not them!

Yeah I found myself in some reading funks last year as well. I ended up taking most of December off and found it helped. I will read 2 or 3 books real fast and then need a break for a week or so. I can't wait to see all the books we all read this year.
Karen- 300!! That is awesome. I started reading longer books last year which is why I did not get as many read as I planned.

I left the 2012 reading challenge. I'm finding myself watching how far I am in my first book of the year and trying to get it done faster, etc. I'm not going to enjoy reading if I'm feeling pressure, so I'll just read what I want for the indivdual challenges I'm in and however many books I read for the year, I read. I'm not going to worry about it!
I don't do it for the challenge I just think its fun to see how many I read. Last year I just kept changing my goal amount to reflect how much I had read. I like being able to click on the read books and having an easy spot to see what books I read.
I admire anyone who can do it...Wish I could do it and enjoy it too!
