I wanted a place to put mine so if you are doing an A-Z Book Challenge list it here. You can use the first letter of the alphabet or first letter of the author however you want to do it. Have Fun!

Ausjenny For Q have you read Quaker Christmas? I think would be harder than the 50 states.

message 5: by Lorie (new)

Lorie | 1324 comments Mod
Quaker Summer would be good for Q too.

Diane U (djuseless) Lorie wrote: "How do you get the book linked and in place? Mine always goes to the bottom?"

Yes, they do go to the bottom but you just highlight them, hit Ctrl and X to cut and then Ctrl and V to paste them where you want it.

message 10: by Lorie (new)

Lorie | 1324 comments Mod
Diane I do not know if I can get them all either, but I thought I'd try lol

message 11: by Kate (new)

Kate (liahonagirl) You guys are so smart with the Qs! :) Now, to find an X and a Z . . . anyone got any bright ideas about THOSE? *grin*

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments It's fudging a *tiny* but there is The Call of Zulina by Kay Marshall Strom. I mean the most important word in the title starts with a Z. Close enough?

message 14: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Authors names qualify for the letter too! But we are going to have to so some research for sure!

Guess that's what makes it a challenge. I'm sure going to have to do some research for x and z!

Kate (liahonagirl) how is everyone doing with the A-Z challenge? I've had fun figuring out books for some of the harder letters . . . and I've got books figured out for all but 2 of the letters . . . somehow those must have slipped under the radar when I did my initial 'scouting' :)

I've been keeping up with this and I have 7 more letters to go but the book that I am currently reading will cross off one more. I have Q, U, V, X, Y and Z left. I'm not a big fan of books about Quakers because I think that they are so odd compared to the Amish but I may try one more just to cross it off.

message 23: by Kate (last edited Jun 26, 2012 04:46PM) (new)

Kate (liahonagirl) If you don't want to do anything 'Quakery' for Q, I'm sure you could find an Amish read about a quilt! :)

message 24: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) I've been wanting to read the Elm Creek Quilt series and the first book is called The Quilter's Apprentice. That will work, thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the suggestion! It is no longer free but it was only $3.99 so I grabbed it!

The one I am planning to read for U is Love Finds You under the Mistletoe. This book was marked down on Kindle recently and I grabbed it. I know I'm stretching it a bit and leaving out the Love Finds You part and just going with the Under the Mistletoe part. Do you all think that is cheating?

I just checked and it is still $1.49.

message 29: by Diane U (last edited Jun 27, 2012 07:56AM) (new)

Diane U (djuseless) No it's not cheating, it is called being "creative!"

I used the author's first initial to use up some letters so that'll work too!

What's everyone doing for X and Z? I'm stumped.

message 33: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) I am planning on reading Beyond the Storm by Carolyn Zane for Z. It was a book from Net Galley. I'm clueless about X.

Kate (liahonagirl) Barbara Ann wrote: "What's everyone doing for X and Z? I'm stumped."

I found a little gem called The Xibalba Murders that sounded interesting. That's my 'X'. As for 'Z', I'm using Zion: Seeking the City of Enoch.

message 35: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Here's another option for "Z":

Zero Visibility by Sharon Dunn

My hubby is acutally reading it now because it has a snowmobile in it! LOL!

message 36: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Any more "X" options? I'm going to search to see what I can find and will post it here!

I'm reading Zero Visibility too. Thanks to NetGalley :) Great for Z

O- Out of Control
Q- The Quakers of New Garden
R- A Reckless Heart
V- Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington
X- Have not figured out anything for that one yet.....

message 40: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) I have U, X, Y and Z left. I am currently reading Falling to Pieces: A Quilt Shop Murder by Vannetta Chapman which I will be using for V.

Diane I finished Yellow Crocus and loved it. The book was hard to put down! It is about slavery time so it is depressing at times, but I was upset at myself for not reading it sooner! I know you said you bought it.

message 46: by Kate (new)

Kate (liahonagirl) Thanks for sharing the lists . . . I've reconsidered my X & Z and switched to things that are actually available to me via the public library (rather than interlibrary loan). I'd love to have the list completed by 31 October, so November and December can be entirely dedicated to Christmas reads! :)
Now, off to update my list upthread!

So excited to get this done. I only have O and X left. For X, I am reading an X-man chapter book with my second grader. All the other books have been things I would have read anyways. Will probably do this challenge again next year.
