The Fault In Our Stars

I read that you are working on ''Hairspray''! Good luck with that one, it needs a lot of work, but I'm sure you'll all do very well!

Gus is possibly the most dashing fictional character ever invented and he's not perfect so that makes him all the more loveable and realistic!

I completely agree! I will probably finish this today on break and on my way home from work <3

Haha! I see that you finished! Did you love it?

I just started this yesterday. I really really love it so far!

I finished it! Here is my review: Amazing Amazing Amazing! Right when I finished the book my first thought was Wow what happens next and there should be a sequel, but then I thought about it some more and said to myself that it doesn't need a sequel because a sequel will ruin the goodness of the book. Normally if I read a young adult book there is always something that pisses me off, but this book did not. I have nothing bad to say about it. It was good from start to finish. I am now off to read his other books. Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska have been on my to-read list for way too long.

You must read 'Looking for Alaska". I adored that book.

Most people think that Looking for Alaska is his best book and don't get me wrong it's EXCELLENT but I don't reccomend reading Looking for Alaska and TFIOS back to back! Rd my favorite instead: Paper Towns!
Oh okay thanks I wasn't planning on reading it right this second. I still have other books that I am reading, but I will try to get them as soon as possible.

I think that ending it this way and not having a sequel was his point! Exactly as Van Houten did in "An Imperial Affliction—” Somethings just end like that and wondering what will happen next, ends in a stalemate..

Even though there was a period at the end of the novel it did feel very incomplete. So incomplete that I felt (like in "An Imperial Affliction") that he'd ended it in the middle of a sentence!
Yep I was thinking that too, but I got over it. There are so many things that I love about this book

Same here! Actually that's one of the things I loved about this book though, because the story within the story ended up kinda becoming the story...does that even make any sense? It does in my head :P

LOL it does make sense, because I was thinking the same thing. I still have to write my review of this book, and a couple of others that I have pending. Bleh, so much to do, so little time to do it.

Yeah it does make sense. I already wrote on a review, but I might rewrite it because there is so much more to say that what I wrote.

I know that feeling, seriously. I mean, I have started to write the review for this book at least twice in the last three days and had to scrap it because I'm like..."No, this just doesn't work..." *DELETE*

Exactly! Well put Samantha! :) I always love watching how the story within the story coincides with the actual story!
I agree. That's one of the reasons why I love this book

As I read the book, some of the comments made about cancer made me think: "The author must surely have read The Emperor of All Maladies, by Mukherjee." Sure enough, that book is listed in the acknowledgements.

Maybe it was that I found it very predictable; just a few chapters in and I had pegged that Hazel would live til the end and Gus would die. :o( I wanted to like it more.

I definitely see where you're coming from! I too had an inkling of the outcome of the book, however, I decided to just enjoy the journey rather than worrying about the ending :). The truth is that when I had to rate this book I wasn't sure if I wanted to give it a 5, 4, or 3...my feeling on this one are so mixed!
(I just posted the March rd: The Hunger Games! Because I'm a terrible fan and I want everyone to love it! though if they don't that's fine :P)

I'm excited about The Hunger Games! I've read the trilogy, but won't mind reading the first one again!

I just finished re-reading TFIOS. It is still amazing! One thing I realized that I didn't realized the first time is that the very last words are Hazel's. I thought that it was still part of Gus's letter. It makes so much sense now.
Oh really? I guess it's just me =)

No no! I probably was just crying so hard by the end that I didn't really pay attention to what I was rding as much!

I am only halfway through this book and its already making me cry.
Take note I am not that much a crybaby but this book really pulled my heartstrings.
Is just so wonderfully written.
I could feel Hazel's pain as if it were my own.
Its just so wondeful. *sniff*

No I don't. :D
I just wanted to hate him for making me cry so much.

Ok good! I was a little worried that I'd made you hate one of my favorite authors! Whew...crisis averted!

I just finished it. It was very sad and touching, it reminded me of a movie I watched recently called Griffin and Phoenix. It was so similar so I don't know if that distracted me from the originality, but it was good. The part that REALLY got to me more than anything was when Van Houten was telling her about his daughter, and how he told her he would see her SOON and all that, yeah that he had to be the one to explain to her she would die. As a mom this whole book is a huge bowl of heartbreak soup.
