What do you consider a long book?

For example, I consider

And then there's books like

I don't really tend to think of books as long until they're 400+ pages. That doesn't stop me from reading long books or anything... It just makes my brain go, "Looooong. x_x"

I also have that feeling when the chapters are that long. I usually like to stop reading when the chapter ends unless I'm too tired, and when i see the chapter go on and on forever, the book feels longer than it really is.

I listened to the audiobook! It was like 30 CD's and took me weeks of driving to finish. Between that one and Game of Thrones (which was 32 CD's) I am kind of over long audiobooks.

500 and pluss is a long book to me.
250\300 is a normal size book.

Ditto to everything you said! I think it often depends on how well a book is written, or how interesting it is, rather than how many pages it has. That said, as a relatively concrete measurement, I agree that over 400 pages is getting to be a lot to get through regardless of the content.

If I HAD to give a number, though, I guess 400 is where it starts to look long. 600 is where I consider if I really want to read it or not haha.

Otherwise, I tend to think of 400-500 pages as long.

Lord of the Flies (other topics)
I just came across a conversation the other day about this and thought it was pretty interesting
For example, i consider a 350+ pages book a long book, but for many a 400 pages book is relatively short.
So, at what number of pages would you say a book is long? :)
