Deryn was cold. She never liked the cold. The gong sounded before she was ready, but she managed to score a small bag. She ran, her slight frame allowing her to avoid the other kids in the arena. Now to find Alek.

She spots what looks like a pot and a carrying bag. She looks around- she's just far enough away from the Careers that she might be safe.
The gongs sounds. Venia is out of there, sprinting towards the pot. she closes in on it within a minute, scooping it up, bag and all. She continues running point blank away from the Cornucopia and around the closest building. Pausing, she looks back for a half second.
Behind her she can hear distant screams, some wheezing, and the odd squelch of snow beneath boots.
Venia steadies her breathing, pulls the bag with the pot now safely inside it onto her back, and jogs further away from the Cornucopia.

Charlotte examines the arena, not surprised to see the snowy, icy landscape. She knew it was going to be a cold arena as soon as she was handed her coat to put on. She's not cold yet though, as she is running so fast, pumping her arms and legs racing to the Cornucopia.
Charlotte smiles to herself as she sees that she's almost the first person there. She's always been a fast runner. She picks up weapons, grabbing her signature bow and quiver of arrows, which are all silver and deadly looking. She also grabs a spear, a bag full of who knows what, and some threatening looking knives. She slides them into her belt as quickly as she can, and slides the bag and quiver over her shoulder. Gripping her bow and spear, she continues her sprint out of the Cornucopia before any other of her competitors arrive. So far so good, she thinks to herself. Now let's just pray this luck continues...
Charlotte runs and runs until she can't run any longer. She settles down for a moment to catch her breath. Then she goes looking for the rest of her alliance. And Venia. She catches her breath again, though this time, it's not because her lungs are aching. It's her heart.
Charlotte shakes her head to clear it, then goes trekking through the snow to look for her teammates. Look out, world... she thinks to herself. The Hunger Games have officially begun.

Teris was afraid, plain and simple. Light-headed, he feared he might fall of the platform and be killed, even before the gong sounded. The platform started to rise and a gust of icy wind cut across his cheek. He swore underneath his breath, and cursed the cold. Preoccupied with his thoughts, Teris barely heard the opening gong. Startled, he ran to the Cornucopia. He saw a backpack, a bedroll sticking out from the top. He grabbed the pack, hoping there was anything that would provide extra warmth, and scrambled away from the people fighting by the pile. Away from the bloodshed of day one.

Adelina hears the gong and instantly springs into action. There is no room for fail. she remembers her trainer saying, You must instantly begin your attack. Don't stop for anything.
She sprints into the Cornucopia and quickly grabs two packs. She grabs 2 small pick axes and puts some knives into one of the packs. She finds a light blanket and put it over her shoulders. She runs out of the Cornucopia carefully, trying not to slip on the ice.
She heads into an empty warehouse and spots Gent. She slips over silently and asks quietly, "Have you seen any of the ohters?"

He heads towards the empty warehouse and spots Gent and Adelina. He walks over to them, barely making a sound and says quietly, "Hey, I'm here."

"Good, we've got like five more to go," Adelina says quietly. Her mind wanders to Jaxes... Where is he? Stop...You weren't trained for this. To win. Not to like some guy that is stuck in the same situation as you! she mentally yells at herself. Just think of the games right now, and survival, nothing else.

As these questions race through his mind, he glares at the ground, angry at the Capitol for putting him in this arena to die, or come out victorious as a killer. Neither option sounds good. he thinks silently, his eyes like daggers, now staring ahead.

He still felt full of adrenaline, like he could run a few more kilometres.
Ky looked down at his backback and groaned. What he had probably wouldn't even last him more than a day.
be careful, them he thought.
~~~~
Ila sighed in frustration, she was so sure she'd seen the district 11 boy out here!
But he'd vanished into the cold. There was fog everywhere and it was impossible to see much at all. She was sure this was a gamemaker thing, something they'd put up just to annoy her.
But there was no time to think about that now. She had a job to do and hunting down that district 11 boy was priority.
The gong rings. Spencer freezes on the spot. He sees all those people at the Cornucopia. It takes all of his willpower to sprint to it. He grabs the first two things he sees, which are a canteen and a bow and arrow set. Then, he sprints away as fast as he can.
The gong rings in Lilac's ears. She sprints to the Cornucopia, and grabs a small, extremely sharp dagger. She also grabs a large backpack, and a loose pair of night goggles. She sees Spencer aprotkng away, she catches up to him and taps his shoulder. He whirls around, a panicked look in his eyes. "Relax, it's just me!" Lilac says. Spencer calms visibly. "H-hi." he says. "Okay, let's go find our alliance, shall we?" Lilac responds, with much more confidence than she actually has. Spencer nods and they take off. Soon, they see Adelina, Julian, and that awfully handsome yet obnoxious guy Gent. "Hey, guys." she says, her heart pounding, though she's not sure if it's because of the run or something else...she scolds herself for even thinking like that. She had to protect herself. And Spencer.
Venia refills her pot with snow, and stuffs her hands into the thick coat. She shivers, concentrating on breathing slowly through her nose. Her thoughts drift, wondering who made it though the bloodbath- and whether she'll ever see her family again.
Just before Venia nodded off, as the sun slowly set, she thought of Charlotte. And smiled.
His knees gave way as the gong sounded and he collapsed onto the ground where he was sure he was supposed to explode. The nerves had gotten better of him and he watched as the other tributes ran past, grabbing what they could. His eyes settled on Venia, his district's female tribute, and the longing for an alliance sunk in. What a mistake he'd made.
Cursing to himself Lee scrambled to his feet and stumbled as fast as he could to the closest thing around. He scooped up a bright white bag and turned away from the cornucopia to one of the gates that held the buildings. He sprinted past a few people, cradling his shoulder after too many running encounters with other tributes.
"Those Game-Makers.. They did this on purpose!" he shrieked as loud as he dared, pulling at his jacket, "They couldn't just make it white?! Now everyone can see me!"
He mad his way from the cornucopia and with the danger of being caught inside the gates behind him, he slowed his pace, finding a large bush that splayed in different directions from its root that wasn't visible from his position. He dived into the bush and lay under the small shelter he still had, his hands already trying to find the zip of the bag.
He sighed in relief, he hadn't noticed how cold he was until the bush provided what shelter it could. It was much warmer in here, but what was he to do now? Surely there'd be a staff at the Cornucopia, in the hands of one of the tributes by now. The next best thing is just a thick branch, he'd need to search tomorrow.
He opened the bag and was immediately disappointed, he had a large piece of white canvas, a full water bottle (which was already half frozen), a long piece of thin but firm wire and a bag of small berries. By the look of it the bag was special because the berries didn't seem frozen at all, they almost felt warm in his hands. He understood that was only because he was much colder than normal temperature.
He ripped a few small branches from the trees and dug holes all around him, satisfied with the cover the bush maintained above him. He tied the wire around each branch in turn and weaved it through the holes that punctured the rims of the canvas, and then stuck the branches in each hole. He piled snow into the holes and crept under the canvas, satisfied that it wouldn't fly off during the night. He closed his eyes and attempted to fall asleep.
"I guess this white canvas is a good compromise for the terrible camouflage they'd given us with the jackets," was Lee's last thought.
Five seconds before the gong sounds, Henrietta closes her eyes and waited. Suddenly, when the gong did sound, she knows exactly what to do. She runs off towards the cornucopia as fast as she can, feeling the freezing winds blow against her face. She slides and swiftly picks up the bow and arrows that she worked so hard to master. She tries to stand up while moving, but can't and wastes precious seconds trying to get up. Spotting her next destination, Henrietta again races toward a backpack, just for some extra supplies. Someone else gets to it before her, so she turns, grabs a mini-pack, and runs off. I hope I can find Lyssa in this madhouse... If she's even alive.
"I think we found our allience," he says to her. Deryn nods and follows. They found the rest of their large allience.
"Hey, Adelina, Julian, spencer, Lilac." Alek says.
Rhea: Rhea stands nervously on her platform awaiting the sound of the gong. She looks around in dismay at the icy arena. But I guess I wont be direly in need of water, she thinks. Mere moments before the gong goes, Rhea decides to head into the throng that will surely surround the corncopia. The gong sound and she is gone. Rhea was allways the fastest girl in District 5, faster than alot of the boys to. she speeds toward the corncopia before most of the Tributes have even realised it had gone.
She reaches the Corncopia with mere moments to spare and begins to search. SHe reaches down and scoops up a backpack holding goodness-knows what! She snatches it up just in time, for Henrietta had her eye on it to. However in her haste to get the backpack other tributes have arrived, she grabbs a tauplin sheet and some dagger and begins to hastily make her way away from the forest. Out of the corner of her eye Rhea sees a small coil of wire a bow and a sheet of arrrows. She stopps and spinns round. Racing toward it soo fast she can feel the muscles in her legs tearing.
Rhea reaches it just in time as a Tribute she doesn't know reaches toward it. She scoops up the bow and aroows with one hand. With her other hand she grabs a the dagger she picked up from her belt and slashes at their hand. While they are momentarily distracted Rhea twists away. She dashes away from the Corncopia, only pausing to grab the Wire. Rhea leaves the Career Tributes to fight it out and is on her way.
Rhea finds herself in a decrepid warehouse. Finding a small nook behind a box she settles in to look through her supplies and prepare for the horrors ahead.
"Good, you guys are here too now," she said to Alek and Deryn. She looked at Gent and Lilac and was disgusted. There is no time for love. It won't live through the games. she told herself even though she wished it wasn't true.
Lyssa moves shyly trying to move out of everyone's way and just get supplies.
Adelina shakes her head. "Nothing, I was just thinking of home." At least half of thst was true.
Deryn, too was thinking of home when she heard Adelina. She sighed and glanced at Alek, who looked ready to kill. She couldn't kill anyone- not yet anyway.
"Ya it was if you like training everyday from 3 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. That's pretty brutal, but us Distict twoers had a lot of ups to our lives, like learning how to kill someone with any object you can think of, even a mini marshmallow," she says with mock sweetness. She looked at Julian, her eyes intense, "Everything may seem all nice and sweet in D2 but we were trained to kill. Remember that." She smiles sweetly and turns back to spying through a window in the warehouse looking for the others.
Ila wasn't giving up though, no she was going to find this boy and kill him.
~~~~~~
As they day grew colder and darker, Ky tried to make himself a small bed where he was. He'd have gone inside one of the werehouses, but he was sure there were others in there. Also, he didn't put it past the gamemakers to rig them with traps. Out here, at least, he was safe, or something close too.
Ky shivered in the cold and wondered how many days he had left.

Lee jumped at the touch and shied away, watching as the ball of fur ran off with its tail following in suit. What the hell was that?! Bloody hell, the last thing he needs to do now is be loud. The one thing he needs now is food, water, and a weapon.
He crawled out from the rustling space that had grown in the night between the canvas and the ground. With a tight grip on the ropes he ripped the canvas from the snow and wrapped it around him, although it wasn't needed seeing as the heavy snowfall covered him anyways.
Either way, with paranoia sinking in, he trekked off through the snow, wrapping the canvas around him to retain what little heat he could. A simple branch, thats all you need, you can melt the snow some how, it'll be quite hard to make some heat in this arena. But food, that's going to be the hardest part, unless you climb trees or find the plants from home, you're going to starve.
Lee was usually stopped from doing the District duties around time when the snow began to fall. The adults would go out and endure the cold while the younger majority stayed at home. There was no point with them going out anyway, the snow killed most of the plants the childrens were used to pick either way. This was a mistake, not learning that plants that sprouted in the winter. A big mistake.
He stopped in front of a tree and collapsed forward onto it, his head lolling down on its side while he slid forward and down onto his knees. How was he supposed to get through this?! So far, only a few people had come forth in his mind as worthy enough to sacrifice himself for. Which means he'd need to follow them, and keep them out of harms way, but they'd most likely reject him since, after all, this is the Hunger Games.
He'd taken notice of one of the boys who'd seemed completely distressed with the attention forced on him during the interviews, the same reaction from him with the chariot rides. He wasn't likely to win, but he'd help as much as can. Depends on whether it was worth it, saving him just for him to end up dead either way. But you never know, like with ol' Johanna Mason who came out guns blazing in one of the previous Hunger Games, a long time ago.
A time when he hadn't been born, or a time when he would've been running around in the backyard with school friends. A much better time.
((Sorry, just noticed how much I ramble on about mental thoughts. -_- ))
Lee snapped his thoughts back to the present and his eyes settled on the melting ice in front of his body. The tears had melted them. Without any pre-thought his face dove down and started lapping up at the small pool of water that had grown in the time that he'd been contemplating his own death.
Not completely satisfied, he trekked off and followed what was left of his tracks. They disappeared a few meters back and he realized the snow would've covered it by now. At least he can't die of hunger or starvation, the Game-makers will ensure that. The only thing he can do is wait for an avalanche or something that'd force him towards the Cornucopia.
He turned once again and headed off in the direction of what he thought was away from the Cornucopia. "Distance yourself from them until you've got a definitive weapon," he thought.
But first: food.

Hello tributes and welcome to the 83rd annual Hunger Games! *applause* Here you will battle out to the death until there is only one last person standing. We only have a few rules.
1. You can't kill people willy nilly. You have to say who you're going to figh then we will have both of you pick a number between 1-1000. Who ever is closest to the randomly drawn number gets to rp out the death of the other.
2. If you try something crazy say "Pulls out ray gun and shoots everyone. I win!" Then you will be automatically killed on the spot.
3. If you are inactive for three days or more your tribute will be killed.
4. After the first three days there can be no more posts about running to the cornucopia. We are well past that just make it so that your tribute already got his supplies
5. Have fun!
Since it is all snow and ice, we have decided to be generous and give everyone these-
[image error]
The cornucopia and platforms are all located in the biggest building seen in the middle of the map.
Have fun and may the odda be ever in your favor!
