Audible has put over 2000 books on sale for $5.95 through 2 September! You can see the complete list at http://www.Audible.com/ACX595 .
The books in the sale were all produced through Audible's Audiobook Creation Exchange. This service matches rights holders with producers and narrators so that more books can be made into audio. Most of the books are great stories that previously hadn't been recorded.

Of course, this is actually the Audio-book thread so... oops... my bad... (Close door, shout) Navigator, it's time for you to do a cranial rectal removal exercise! (open door)
Yes, I love the 150 books on the $4.95 list at Audibile.com.

So I made it through half of the audio book. The reader actually did a pretty good job. Only the fairly graphic sex scenes were a bust -- even with the guy "doing" all the voices. The "Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh" parts were a bit disconcerting.
Now I'll wait for the movie. I'm sure it will be hysterical.

Hey, thanks, Hugh. And what's this new picture you got. I think I liked the scary bear better.

Oh, by the way, here are the instructions for how to copy an audio book from Audible.com to CD if you don't have one of those fancy-shmancy hot dog dumb-assed smart phones (like mine).
http://audible.custhelp.com/app/answe...
buying a audiobook from Audibile.com is just like buying an E-book. You have to respect copywrites for both the material and the system it's sold and used with, but you own the book.

It'll go through a lot of CDs but basically you use the Apple iTunes program and you can copy any of them at about 80 minutes pers CD.

All but the last Hounded (Iron Druid) series is on sale also at Audible.com. That's 1 through 4.5. Book five lists at just under $20.

I listen on my droid phone I think its a Motorola RAZR Maxx. Whatever it is it works great.

I've found a wonderful, if small, anthology of short stories that they gave away free at Audibile.com
Metatropolis
In Session by M.J. Rose
The Sagan Diary by John Scalzi
All of these turned out to be great!
I listened to audiobooks on Apple Nano (when I bought them at rediculous prices) and now I listen on my Phone, which is also a Razr Maxx.
I use a simple handsfree device when in the car so it comes through my radio (and allows me to charge my phone while I listen) and when walking the dog, I use a bluetooth headset.
(I also listen to text to speach with a GoGROOVE Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the "earpiece" jack and becomes bluetooth to my bluetooth headset.
When I'm home getting ready for work, I skip the headset and let use a single "Bluetooth" speaker. while I iron clothes for the day, shower, shave and dress. All Items except the phone I found on Amazon.com at a reasonable price (for me).

Razr Maxx has an extended life battery. If I'm good about charging it while I drive and listen, or having it plugged in when it's near the charger and I'm listening at home, the batter almost never goes down past 75% full charge.
When I forget to charge it, I don't change my routine and the battery might get down as low as 25%.
I'm a believer in the Razr Maxx. When I had a lesser phone. I purchased a battery that I could keep charging, then when the phone was low, I unplug it from the car charger and plug it into my phone. It worked great. It even recharged my phone if I wasn't using it.

Yea, I used to use the speaker on the phone, but I've found the single stand alone bluetooth speaker (which I originally bought because the Kindle speakers were hard for me to hear and used the transmitter) allows me to lave my phone charging and carry the speaker around with me (if I'm not going too far). It's also louder with more of a range in sound production.
My car has a lot of "road noise" that drowns out my speaker on the phone itself so I use a bluetooth hands free device, or the aux jack (if available) to get more speaker power.

Which Bluetooth do you have?
I've been using Motorola BT headphones for years, but they break too easily.
Peace, Seeley

This is the Headset That I Currently use. GoGroove Athletic.
I got a better deal than this, but the price has gone up. It's behind the neck, and clamps over the ears, it's sealed up to make it water resistant and the tips are angled to keep them in your ears. I've used a lesser version, and it performed fine for me. I upgraded on the old, you take mine, I'll get another pair deal :) with my wife.
This is the transmitter that I use (there are others). This is what I plug into my kindle earphone jack to turn it into a bluetooth capable device. Again this price is higher than what I paid.
Bluetooth Transmitter
This works with the hand's free device in my car, my bluetooth speaker and anything with an earphone jack. I've had three different bluetooth headsets (all still functional) and the transmitter has worked with all of them as well as the hands free device for the car.
The prices are higher than what I payed. I'm not sure why that is.
