Gabriel I think that he was a paedophile. If you look at the way that he targeted children to turn them into werewolves, and I believed that there was a scene where he was licking his lips... I'd say that the evidence is there.

Well, maybe, but I think it was more about him not liking kids because he got changed when he was one, and why should they have a good life, when his own wasn't so good

yeah, I think you're right.

Samantha The Escapist no he definitely has a thing for kids but I think rather than it being overtly sexual with regards to either party I believe it was just a sort of sadism that replaced his sexuallity. I think it was most likely a violent form of release for him with a similar type of gratification, just not paedophilia in its definitive sense.

I honestly don't think JKR wanted to depict pedophilia in her novels. I think he was just a sociopath. You're reading way too much into that licking his lips thing. He's an animal, its what they do. The ultimate satisfaction for him was having children changed so there would be more wolves like him.

Samantha The Escapist Well Kim I didn't mention the lip licking thing, I just think this because I actually do believe that JKR was aware of a few things like this while she was writing the books and I think that if someone didn't want to imply paedophilia they'd be a LOT more careful about saying greyback likes em' young. After all it is a pretty huge deal and I think she hinted gently at it to make the character more skin-crawlingly terrifying.

Here is a fun list if you want to read about more bad sex things suggested in HP http://www.cracked.com/article_19397_... I don't really agree with most of them or at least I don't necessarilly think they are all the case but it's a funny list anyway.

I have actually read that article. I love Cracked. I agree with most of them. Umbridge however...

Thats a pretty funny article. Cracked is awesome. The Dolores one creepily makes sense...

Especially the part about how Hermione probably knew what she was doing. Oo

It's certainly hard to think of what else could have traumatized her so much with no visible injuries.

Badgerlord Loved that Cracked article! I also liked this one; http://www.cracked.com/article_18956_...

I don't really think paedophilia at that part. I think its more like 'there is a child. Children are easy to bite. I like biting. Biting means food', and at this point his salival gland activates and and he licks his lips.

Amanda I guess it's a possibility but I wouldn't think JKR would have that in a children's book. I can totally get why you say this and if it was an adult book specifically I would probably agree. I think, as had been said previously, that he just really dislikes kids due to being changed as a kid. Interesting point though.

That was hilarious! Obviously not true, but hilarious!

Samantha The Escapist JKR has a quirky style though and there are many adult themes, I don't think she's beyond it at all. Once again, it could be her intent without it being overtly clear, just a small hint to make the character more terrifying to those who pick up on it (who would presumably be mature enough to handle such a topic). And Amanda I think you meant to say "obviously I disagree" instead of "obviously not true" as we are each welcome to our own opinion.

Jeanie He is literally a child predator . Pedophilia implies some form of attraction, but Fenrir is more like a serial killer who chooses victims who can't fight back and are easily overpowered. He is the creepiest character in the entire series, imo, because not only is he violent and cruel, but he preys on the youn, innocent, and weak. He allows for no choice or consent. Even Voldemort gave people a choice to follow him or not--follow me or die, but at least it was a choice.

As far as I'm concerned, letting them chose their fate was the one thing that made Old Volde truly creepy. It shows how absolutely sure of himself he is.

Samantha, I was actually commenting in that particular post on the link to the article that you had put up. I was saying that it was really funny but obviously not true. I would never tell someone their POV wasn't true.

Oh cool. thanks for clarifying :) I was a little offended to be honest since I also thought that meant you were laughing at my opinion lol.

Yeah, Voldie is also very creepy, but Fenrir is creepier to me. I mean, he actually munches down on his victims when he's going for the kill--yikes!. I do know what you mean though. On one level Voldemort is scarier because his particular brand of evil flows from intelligence, great power, and even a certain amount of charisma--at least in his early days. When he is cooly evil it gives one chill bumps.
