Leslie | 95 comments I am sorry if this post is already going. This is my first time starting one so I didn't know and didn't see one. So if not, what are you reading and what is a hobby you have besides reading? Leslie

Liz I'm currently reading Breakdown, the latest in the V.I.Warshawski series. Tomorrow I HAVE to get to the library. Not only will I have finished all my current library books, but I have 7 books waiting for me! I haven't been reading as much lately because I have been busy working on my needlework. I just took a beginning needlepoint class & have been finishing that project. But now I'm cross-stitching book marks for the Stitching for Literacy Project.

Theresa I have V is for Vengeance, and I am enjoying it. The story moves right along and it's fun to be back in the 80s again.

Liz, I really liked Breakdown.

message 4: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (gkonkler5) I'm reading Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It was the classic I chose for the February genre challenge. I like it a lot.

Next up will be Still Alice.

message 5: by Stacey (new)

Stacey It's spring break for the kids and we were in Santa Monica last weekend and driving up to Lake Powell in a few days. I live in Goodyear, AZ. The Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians have a training facility here. They have games everyday that are so up close and personal that it's a great to watch if that's your 'thing'. Tonight we're going to see the Reds/San Diego Padres.

I'm finishing The Kitchen Daughter and just getting into Haiku: A Novel. Next up is Gone With a Handsomer Man.

Mary | 236 comments I just finished Amanda Eyre Ward's CLOSE YOUR EYES last night. Her writing is so easy-going, yet intelligent, and I liked this book as much as two of her others I've read. I think my next one will be the YA, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, by John Green. It was highly recommended by a good friend.

As for hobbies, I love walking my Lab Jazz in the warm weather, and spending time with her and my three Ragdoll cats. And, of course, there's always spending (too much) time on the Internet! Reading really IS at the top of my list!

Caroline (caro7) I am less than 100 pages away from finishing The Night Circus. I honestly am looking forward to finishing. :( I also am about halfway through The Sociopath Next Door. This one is non-fiction and a MUCH more interesting read. I recommend it to everyone.

Leslie | 95 comments Mary I am going to read that YA one soon too as soon as the library has it or I get a good deal! I know Stacey read it and another in person (lol) friend loved it. I'm reading "The Stranger Beside Me," bc apparently I'm wanting true crime lately. Also I have "The Leftovers" kind of going at work. I'm still waiting to get new Kinsella! Been a little $ tight this month! I like to write but nothing worth sharing!

I'd like to read The Sociopath Next Door just based on the title!

Sam (ecowitch) | 157 comments I'm reading Underworld at the moment and I've got to be honest I am distinctly unimpressed. I'm on page 237 and still nothing has really happened and no real storyline has appeared, it all seems rather haphazard at the moment. Hoping it's going to get better otherwise it is going to be a very long read!

It is absolutely intriguing. Also, Leslie, after you read The Stranger Beside Me, The Sociopath Next Door is a good follow-up or companion book, so to speak.

Dan Raymo (dan_raymo) | 22 comments Boy, you people knock down books like I knock down Guinness on a Friday night. But (drum roll please) I finally finished Shantaram and last night started December 1941: The Month That Changed America And Saved The World. He certainly could have edited 500 pages out of Shantaram without a complaint from me. Did enjoy it though. December 1941 has 31 chapters, each for a day in that month, and I'm realizing I didn't even get through one day last night, so I'll check back with you in, ummm... well maybe July.

December 1941 looks great!
