Abby Wolfson, with her daughter, Calliope, in Brooklyn, concocts her own cleaning products.

Of course she does!

Sarah | 13814 comments I don't think that's a hipster thing. Good for her if she has the time and energy.
The number of toxins we surround ourselves with is mind-blowing. It's a good article.

What is a hipster thing?

message 4: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
A daughter named Calliope is definitely a hipster thing, so yes.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
What else? Cloth diapering?

message 6: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Depends. If hipsters are doing it, it's a hipster thing. If the Amish are doing it, it's an Amish thing. My mother did cloth diapers but was in no way a hipster.

A hipster diaper:

She would regale you with tales of menstrual rags when you were still in diapers? Harsh!

Oh for fuck's sake. Now you have a problem with semantics? We're human. We name things. Get over it.

I like you but I don't have to tap dance around you just because you can form a sentence. I can correct your grammar. I can disagree with you. I can say fuck to you if I want. But then again, I like you. It is just that you sprung up around the same time as about 28 other Catherines that I call you tardis. Don't get all high on your horse and call me a bitch and feel so self-important, noob.

Jim just left you a nice warm spot on the couch next to the ficus and Felarry. Get yourself settled.

I want to play hipster bingo.

Ooh, I saw a 4-foot tall guy today. But not a 4-foot tall girl.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I love the Bingo card!

I don't understand why a 4 foot girl is hipster.

Do we have any hipsters in the group who could enlighten us?

My guess is that there's nothing for a 4 foot girl to wear that isn't from GAP Kids and all they sell there is tiny hipstery things.

He's the only one that looks like a hipster, and it looks much cuter on a kid than an adult. That kid with the cigarette and beer looks like your average future redneck.

I think he's so cute, sitting there in his panties.

I had those roller skates, too. There is a picture of me with them on and wearing a dress that is very similiar to that little girl's dress.

Huh. My mom was apparently a hipster.
