Asian Lit in Translation discussion

The suggestion for Kafka on the Shore has been made. But what ellusive asian texts have you been thinking about munching on? I'll put them on the to-read shelf. :)

(The only requirement is that they not be written in English originally--arguments against this are allowed.)

I have recently checked a copy of "Land of Exile" out of the library. It is an anthology of of Korean short stories written after 1945.

Here is a list of novels that have to do with China or Chinese - many of them are translated from the original Chinese.
