What book(s) are you reading right now?

I'm reading Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling. I started reading this because I am a big fan of The Office, and Mindy Kaling is one of my favorites from the show I'm loving it so far! She has a wonderful sense of humor!

Gone by Michael Grant

So I was browsing B&N last week, and found this big display for a young adult series called Gone. It looks like the next books in the series is being released soon. I took a peek at the cover, and the book series was recommended by Stephen King. I. Love. Stephen. King. Books. So, I decided to take a chance on it...but not by spending $20 on the book....

I got it from the library on Tuesday....I'm not sure if I like it...but I also don't hate it....I'm about 40% into the book and it's not bad, but I feel like there is something missing. I am very much determined to finish this book though because each chapter has an hour and minutes countdown....and I have NO IDEA what it's counting down to! I am hoping that whatever it's counting down to, it's super epic.

I was also wondering to myself, "Why have I not heard of this yet if it's so good?" But then I remembered that no one really talked about Hunger Games until they decided to make the movies. I'll let you all know if it gets good! Might be worth an April group read nomination! :)

Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay

Ok, so I have been hearing all sorts of stuff about the Dexter series and how much everybody loves it, but we don't get the channel so I wasn't too concerned about trying to watch it. Well while I was at the library the other day, I saw a Dexter book and I was like....ok this can either be a book trying to sell based off the tv series' success, or it could be a book the show was based off of. Turns out there is a whole series the tv show is based off of. I decided to borrow the first one and I am really liking it so far.

Now I am not one for thrillers usually, or any kind of murder mystery but I am actually really liking this book. I think I am going to try and read the whole series before I try and watch some of the show. Does anyone watch the show? Has anyone else read the books?
