Alright! Here is a book worth checking out:
No Greater Sacrifice by John C. Stipa

The author is a member of our awesome group, but I wonder if he's paying attention. Are you ready for new fans John? Are you out there John? :-)

John Stipa | 7 comments Lol, Dustin you crack me up. Yes I'm paying attention and always looking forward to interacting with fellow Goodreads members. I just received the best review from Jody, it made my week!

John Stipa | 7 comments Oh well, looks like it's just going to be you and me...maybe I should offer up a few free copies?

In the meantime, I'll add some excerpts from NGS to see if it peaks anyone's interest:

On the roof, across the street, a lone figure, dressed in black, watched the movements through the window with a camera in hand. Its telephoto lens swept the inside of the room. A slender woman’s image came into view. Pepperdine—click. The computer screen brightened. The camera followed her as she groped for something on the floor. Zooming in—snap, snap, snap—as she changed her clothes.
After the woman pulled the sheets over her head, the camera shifted its focus to the information still visible on the computer’s monitor. The high-speed shutter went to work.

You're gonna get me interested to pick it up again :-)

John Stipa | 7 comments And that's a good thing!

A picture of Renée and her emaciated father sat on her dresser at home—the last photograph of him alive. A portrait of lies…and truth—the stark reality of how cruel life can be. Once human, the flesh belied the destruction within. A man full of vitality, a true zest for life, reduced to a scarecrow of sagging skin and bones, his spirit broken—an excruciating sight for a daughter to behold.

John Stipa | 7 comments "...wow, John wrote some romance scenes like a woman! That is not an insult – it’s a huge compliment. The romantic elements were tender, yet steamy; subtle, yet intense. I suppose I just assumed a man couldn’t write passages that radiated with such warmth and love... until I read this book."

5-star review, Kristina, Goodreads member

The Dare to Dream has a Summer Reading Challenge and I'd like to challenge myself to finally get through No Greater Sacrifice. Here is the challenge: http://www.goodreads.com/challenges/6...

I believe Renee would meet the requirement of a Female Heroine as the main character, but also wondering if any of the following applies to No Greater Sacrifice:

* Does a character get shot in the book? (if so don't tell me who)
* Is the story set in a warm climate?
* Is the story set partly in Italy or are you by chance an Italian author?

John Stipa | 7 comments Yes, 1) a character gets shot, yes 2) the story takes place during a warm time of the year and yes, 3) part of it takes place in Italy. By coincidence, yes, 4) I am an author of Italian descent.

Enjoy!

--John
