Shea Vegan Pie in the Sky: 75 Out-of-This-World Recipes for Pies, Tarts, Cobblers, Crumbles, and More

Anyone have some favorite recipes from this book? I made the Chocolate Galaxy Banana Cheesecake last night and it is delish! I also made the Pumpkin Cheesecake for Thanksgiving last year and everyone loved it.

I wish I had this cookbook! Yum.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Shea, I haven't read it yet. I'll probably borrow it from the library. I'm more of a cake & frosting person than a pie person, but all of Isa Chandra Moskowitz's cookbooks are amazingly wonderful, so I will read it.

I agree. I keep all of her cookbooks in heavy rotation. Vegan Brunch is my favorite!

Monica I have made the "Blueberry Thrill Pie." That is one of the more basic recipes but it turned out well.

Oh, the Cappuccino Mousse Pie sounds amazing. What is a Banoffee Pie/what are the basic flavors? Thanks, Emmy.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Emmy, Oh, that sounds delicious too! I'll have to borrow a copy of this book. Thanks for that info.

Oh, that Banoffee pie sounds so yummy! I would probably eat the entire pie in one sitting too. How could you resist!

^^^Lol. I know what you mean. I usually just give slices away to friends or make tart-size servings in ramekins for myself.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Jo, I can't remember. For me it was a library book. I'm sure other members can tell you.

I've never been a huge pie fan so I prefer pie filling without the crust. With pies such as pumpkin it's like a pudding. Yum!

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Jo, Maybe you can reactivate (or at least read) this thread:

Susan I've been really wanting to talk about the cheesecakes in this book. I really don't like the banana in them. I have tried several and substituted extra cashews once, but I still didn't like it. The pumpkin was the only one I liked because I could use extra pumpkin. I may try extra tofu next time, but I'm beginning to think those pies aren't for me. I am wondering if anyone has other suggestions for subs for the banana.

The recipes I have liked the most so far are the chocolate raspberry, pecan, chocolate caramel, and banofee. They were all delicious.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Susan, I'm not a huge pie fan, but I bet I'd like the chocolate caramel and other chocolate ones, and I do like pumpkin pies.
