In our discussion about books, future, writing and horror stories she said:

"Horror is about imagining the worst and allowing no room to relent. There is no room for hope in horror, I don’t think. This is how you would also describe a dystopia; no room for hope.
Why I’m so fascinated by this hopelessness, and why I think the two work together well, is about the honesty of them. I think some people prefer their fiction to be escapist, and I do understand that. Life is tough; the world is harsh."
