Great African Reads discussion

Welcome to May! Apologies this is a few days late.

Please feel free to begin posting your thoughts. I'm trying to finish the book for April (i really like it, btw!) but i do have Matar's book in hand (just picked it up from the library this morning!).

There is a lot out there on the internet about Matar and his writing, but for the time being, i'll post this NPR story about Matar since it focuses on Anatomy of a Disappearance.

Finished - gave it three, really 3.5 stars. I will discuss more once others have read it.

I've only just got this from the library now. Doesn't look like a very long read though.

It only took me a couple of days to read. And then I forgot to come back here!

That's the kind of book I like! :D

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It is a coming of age story about a young North African teenager/man after his father is kidnapped while on vacation in Switzerland. I listened to the audiobook version read by Steve West. I think the good narration helped to make the story more enjoyable.
