The title is pretty self explanatory
Basically, you grab the nearest book and write down the first sentence. The next person has to guess it.
Example

Person 1: "Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much."

Person 2: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
"You don't know about me without you have read a book by the name of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; but that ain't no matter."

Person 3: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Etc

I'll start

"If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don't feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth."

Kam (iamwhowhoareyou) | 53 comments It's from Graceling. It's not a very memorable first sentence, is it? The only reason I put it down is because I had it in my hand because I was rereading it.
