I thought I might inform you that this is not my idea. It was thought up of someone else in a different group called Roleplaying Fiends. I am literaly copying and pasting because it never got started. But it's a good roleplay. Here is the link, even though it's completely dead now. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/list_g...

Okay, now that that's over with, let's get to the good stuff.

Dirt and rubble cover the once lush farmlands. The cities, once bustling with activity, are silent, most buildings nothing more than the skeletons of what they once were. The oceans are reduced to radioactive soup. The temperature never dips below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Animal life is scarce. To find a human? Almost impossible.

Welcome to the New World

The majority of the population died from radiation. About half of the population that didn't die is now grotesquely mutated, unable to think clearly and, in a way, zombies. People have come to know them as The Torn.
And then, there are the lucky few who miraculously managed to avoid death and mutation. No survivor really knows how they did it, and most wished that they didn't.

The Shard :
They're violent. Disturbed. Secretive. Ruthless. Arrogant. Excessively greedy. They're prepared to do whatever it takes to survive. They're loaded on scavenged weapons. Somehow, they've found a steady source of food. Unsurprisingly, nobody can find out what it is.
The Sinner ~Their feared leader.
The Wolves ~Their cunning scavengers.
The Spider ~Their evasive spies.
The Smolder ~Their vicious guardians.
The Nexus ~Their skilled healers.

The Jade :
They're quirky. Different. Religious. Antisocial. Some may even say downright strange. They're actively known for their secretive rites and rituals they are constantly performing. Needless to say, they're not well liked by the other two tribes. They're deadly to all who defy their religious beliefs, usually coming up with horrifying ways to torture and kill the offender.
The Silver ~Their 'called' leader.
The Crimson ~Their frugal scavengers.
The Glass ~Their silent spies.
The Onyx ~Their slightly demented protectors.
The Golden ~Their spiritual healers.

The Keep :
They're crafty. Devious. Intelligent. Cautious. Duplicitous. Nothing that they have was ever originally their own. They trust no one outside their clan, and aren't trusted by anyone else. They tend to move around, never satisfied with where they are.
The Shadow ~Their sly leader.
The Thieves ~Their street smart scavengers.
The Raven ~Their perceptive spies.
The Fate ~Their artful protectors.
The Divine ~ Their judicious healers.

Where do you belong?

Something special gets to happen in this roleplay.

Whoever gets to make the leader gets to write an introductory note. In this note you shall explain things like your particular set of rules, whatever you want, actually.

Since I'm the Shadow, I made my own. Here's the note the original person put up:

Welcome to the Keep

If you are not sneaky or quick, deceptive or klepto, stop reading, you won't be accepted here. Here at the Keep, we only accept the able bodied, the strong, and the willing.

Our strengths are that we cannot be put down, we always persevere, and we thrive on the wealth of others. We don't give a second thought to killing a loner to get his clothes, food rations, and other possessions. We aren't afraid to sneak into another camp to take their things.

Shelter is available, food is scarce, and protection is where I see fit. Don't leave things laying around, because they will be taken.

Theft is encouraged here. If this bothers you, leave.

Here, we are all trying to survive. One way or another, we will succeed.

Welcome to the Keep.

~The Shadow

And here's mine:

Welcome to the Keep.

I see you've made your choice. Let's hope you live up to it.

I'm only explaining things once. If you have a question, either get over it or risk your life asking.

You'll notice we live differently than other tribes. To the West is the Jade, further North, the Shard. I'm telling you this because they are our suppliers. We steal their rations. Go at your free will, and your own risk. Get your own food.

That's the main camp. Don't fall in the large bonfire, and don't get pushed. But if you do, aim for the middle. No one wants to shove your carcass. The Immanus don't come here except when I let them.

There is a collection of buildings that used to be apartments. You'll live there. Fight for your room. I don't care. Each room might have a bed and will be filled with whatever you fill it with.

On the opposite side of the main camp is that short stone building. Don't enter there. Ever.

Don't be afraid to tattle. You'll be rewarded. Some will tell you differently.

Some people might disappear. Take anything you want. I'd keep anything you need with you at all times.

Remember, only the strong survive, but everyone does what I say.

Live on your toes.

Don't trust anyone. Ever.

I'd get to work on proving yourself to me, the Shadow. Those who don't are fed to the Immanus to keep the rest of us alive.

And they will suffer while I laugh.

Again, Welcome to the Keep.

So, as you can see, complete freedom. I'll post more background later, but until then, get going on the characters!

Carly (cloud-envy) Falls. Falls. Falls, my sweet, sweet Falls. Can I just write how much love I have for you right now? I'm so excited I'm shaking, this roleplay is going to be so amazing, like, gah! :D

Also - I'm probably going to crank out two or three guys for this roleplay today. Hopefully including the Sinner. Oh yes. This will be so very glorious.

I know! The epic awesomeness(In the traditional sense of the word) will be overwhelming. (:

message 8: by Carly (new)

Carly (cloud-envy) I made my Sinner :D
Now I'm going to make his sister o.o; I'm really excited.. I was gonna make her a Keep but there are already two girls D:

Waterfall *Daughter of Northridge Earthquake* (falls) | 1395 comments Mod
You can still make her a Keep, just make another random guy to go along with it. (:

message 10: by Carly (new)

Carly (cloud-envy) I'll bring Ivy with another guy.
I figured having the sister of the sinner being allied with the keep might cause a little drama later on c:
Also, I'll write the sinner note later.

Okay, no worries, just send it to me whenever and I'll add it in. (:

Yes, you're correct, that would add a bit of drama to the roleplay. Which is always welcome. (:

I have a question... what exactly do the spies do? Infiltrate the other groups?

message 13: by Waterfall *Daughter of Northridge Earthquake*, Mediator of Voices (new)

Waterfall *Daughter of Northridge Earthquake* (falls) | 1395 comments Mod
Yes, they do. Each group is fearful of the others--they all think the other groups are going to plan an attack or something. The spies will infiltrate the other groups, either a long term, undercover thing or just sneak in and out, to make sure that no one is threatening their way of life. They're also there to take any new technological ideas or things like that.

Sweet.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» Question: What sort of technology do they have?

Hmm.... Good question....

Well it does take place in today's world, but I think that since the zombies have pretty much destroyed society it would be really hard to come by electricity and gasoline and things like that. We'll just say that whatever you can think of that doesn't require those things is good. So probably no cell phones or cars, but battery powered things--like walkie talkie's--are probably fine.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» How long has it been since the destruction of society?

Just a few years. Long enough for resources to dwindle, but not long enough for people to forget. We'll say four years?

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» All right, thank you.
