Ivy G. So, I know Dani is 14 and all but do you think that Ryodan is going to be Dani's FIRST!!!?!!! lol!!

Jill From reading some captions from the next book, it seems to be the way things are going. I am really looking forward to it, but have been imagining that its a few years in the future. Hopefully.
I mean otherwise, weird right?

message 3: by Erin (last edited Jun 27, 2012 07:08AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin lol...agreed! I think that would be a bit odd but then Ryodan is a bit twisted anyway. I wouldn't really put it past him. :)

Michielle What if she gets lost in Fairy land (I don't remember what it's called) and when she gets back, she is much older, but not much time has past on our side? And who is Dancer? She was a bit fixated on him during Shadowfever.

message 5: by M. (new) - rated it 3 stars

M. Gosh, I forgot who Ryodan is, lol. So many characters. Remind me ladies, please.

Erin He was one of the mysterious nine. Actually if you go to YouTube there are some fan videos that are pretty cool. :)

Michielle He also owns the club.

message 8: by M. (new) - rated it 3 stars

M. Ah, that is right. Thanks.

Wendy Personally I don't think it'll work out. Maybe Moning is just exploring the whole idea of a platonic relationship. I mean Ryodan made it really clear that he won't fall in love. He could grow a brotherly affection towards Dani.

Emily Kauffman Moning definitely lays the groundwork for a Dani-Ryodan relationship in the Fever novels but I have to wonder (like everyone else) just how she's going to pull it off without it being pervy. I doubt that it will be a strictly platonic relationship - that isn't really Moning's style - but I could certainly see the relationship taking a while to fully develop.

Michielle Ryo did say he found her and her talents very interesting. When Mac mentioned she was too young for him he said time would solve that problem. So I think he is willing to wait it out. I mean he is immortal so he has a different view on time.
I just winder who Dancer is. And when will Rhymer show up? He was mentioned a few times in Shadowfever as the only other human known to have drank the Queen's elixir.

Alicia Maybach I will be really interested to see how both Ryo and Dani develop in the next book. Just my thoughts, but I've always sort of got the feeling that there is something Ryo wants from Dani, and that perhaps Mac misinterpreted what he was thinking.

I don't think Ryo would be above using a teenage crush to get something he wants, I guess is what I'm saying. Like using her speed. (Although from what I recall, Ryo and the rest of the bunch we're faster then she was)

Wendy Maybe Ryodan developed a sort of attraction towards Dani's beauty. The errands could simply be an escuse to see her more often. Plus in a teaser Dani somehow was contacted by Cruce hence maybe there's something special about her.

Joanna ok is dani supposed to be more beautiful than Mac...?

It looks like ryodhan wants something from Dani...not sure what but with her being only 14 I really hope its for her ABILITIES and nothing else/

Jessica I just finished reading ICED... Honestly, although there are no real hints about this relationship btwn Ryo and Dani... I'm thinking he might turn out to be her father!! Why else does he continue to protect her from everyone??

Really?
Wow, that's an interesting theory.
I am 61% into the book & the part where Christian is on the roof & Ryodan is pretty much looking up at him smugly. He (Christian) said that he saw something in his (Ryodan's) eyes before they met eye contact. He said something along the lines of he saw Ryodan look at her like she was "Worth the wait"... I don't know, you could be on to something though. I honestly would not mind for her to EVENTUALLY have a romantic relationship with Ryodan. BUT, I am a rooting Dancer - I think he is so cute to her... I HATE Christian... He completely grosses me out & his pedophile thoughts does not help his cause.

message 17: by Dee (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dee but Christian is less than 10 years older than her, so its not as bad as if it were Ryo who is like thousands of years

I think it is going to be christian though, Ryo and Jo is what I predicted towards the end of shadowfever and I think that is how it is going to play out

message 18: by Mx3 (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mx3 KARENMM wrote on her site that Rhone is not Dani's father and her father is of little consequences to the story and won't factor into the storyline.

Eeeekkk... Really? Ryo & Jo? Dani & Christian?
Ugh... I am hoping that Christian changes his creepy ways. He creeps me out.

It's just so weird. I can't wrap my head around Jo & Ryo... I guess I just have that Dani mentality, the whole: She's a traitor, kind of thing.
I know I am going to get some heat about that but hey, It's my opinion. Lol. ;o)

message 20: by Dee (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dee I figure Christian just has the soul-mate thing going - that shows up in so many PNR/UF books - kind like Gregori and Savannah in Feehan's Dark series - I mean, he knew she was his s/m before she was born and he watched her grow up...

I like Jo - i don't think she is a traitor - but then Dani put her in the position that she is in, so maybe some of Dani's thoughts are guilt...

That is very true. I still don't like Jo & I hope she doesn't end up with Ryodan.
I would rather him alone. LOL!

message 22: by Dee (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dee but then i've liked Jo since she was introduced way back when - and I wanted to see her and Kat developed more as characters because there was potential for them to be significant - kind of like Neville in Harry Potter - he was such as unassuming character who ended up playing a significant role

message 23: by April (new)

April Mcintosh britt I think Ryo is definately waiting for Dani. She signed the contract in blood. She knows the 9 are immortal, and he lets her know this. Also remember he said he as the only one to ever teach her and that whatever superpower he has she can ask him about it when shes older. Jo, is her own woman he says,Dani, on the other hand is his with the contract. He would of slept with Kat to if she would have let him. My opinion Jo and him is not going to last.

Kristy Johnson I think Ryo is using Jo. Remember Kat said that Jo was soposed to be at Chesters to spy and gather info. I think he's keeping her close because he knows what sh is up to. What better way to keep his eye on her and control what she's up too. She's way in over her head trying to play the master manipulator.

Adoore I just finished ICE and I have to say that I believe everything is being set in motion for Ryodan and Dani to end up together in the future. Everything Ryo says speaks to him being the only man for Dani but him waiting for her to grow up. I personally dislike Jo because how can she not know that Ryo is waiting and is interested in Dani. Dancer is interesting I like that Ryo has competition it reminds me of Mac and the men that were after her.

Now, Christian I forgive him because he is not acting on anything he says he is just another V'lane but he is waiting.

I am so looking forward to the next few books but I do wonder how Moning is going to pull the HEA between Dani and who ever she chooses if time doesn't go by fast. The idea of Dani going into Fae land is interesting especially since it is mentioned that Ryo can't follow her there.

Michielle I finally finished it!! Hard to say who Dani will end up with. It's interesting to read from another characters point of view and you just want to keep yelling at them what you already know. She finally finds out that the 9 are immortal. But she hasn't figured out that Mac is not out to kill her. Mac made amends at the end of Shadowfever that it was not Dani's fault and she knows Dani was coerced into killing Alina. But I think the spear in the back was a way to keep from Dani killing her in the fight or flight reaction.

I want Dani to end up with Dancer. Maybe.... It's hard to tell what's going on with him. I don't think he is what he is telling Dani. Like Kat sensed, there was something deeper and darker going on than what was on the surface.

As far as Christine goes, I am totally rooting for him and his sanity. He is trying his hardest to stay good. Hopefully his uncles and father can find a way to save him along with his new knowledge.

I don't think Ryo will stay with Jo, he needs someone that has some fire to her. And I think he is using her to keep tabs on the Shidhe-seers. It seems the 9 can read minds, or some of them can.

And what the hell is up w/ Mac's mother? She seems a bit of a Stepford wife. A bit on the creepy side.

message 27: by ~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ (last edited Dec 08, 2012 06:45AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ I heard in ICED that it appears to be heading that way with Dani & Ryoden, (Romance) *shudders* Plus Christian is said to be lusting after her too. Just gross..

But I mainly can't take Dani enough to read her as a lead in a book. Plus it just seems too weird to be reading a 14 year old's voice/POV being the lead in an adult novel. It isn't classified as YA.
( Plus ICED will be taking place only a year AWC) So she's not much older.

I honestly have always felt that Dani should have been a bit older when she was introduced to us. Like 16 or something. She wouldn't have had a lot of the childish/reactions/speech in the 1st five books for one, and for ICED she would have been 17 going on 18. This would have made it more interesting for me. And considering what she is "encountering" in ICED, it would have seemed less "pedophile-ish" IMO

So I will not be reading ICED in the foreseeable future.

message 28: by Mich (new) - rated it 4 stars

Mich I'm a huge (HUGE) fan of the fever series. But I was also quite nervous to read the next installment of the journey- featuring Dani as the main POV.
I have to say, anyone who is an existing fever fan will enjoy this book.
Dani’s “feck this and feck that” wasn’t as annoying as I thought it would be. Also, KMM had so many different POVs in the book (Dani, Kat, Christian…etc) that it wasn’t just Dani 100% of the time.

I can promise that this book did not read as a YA story. Ryo is almost as hot as Barrons. And again, as a break off series from Fever this book really held its own. Fever is considered a paranormal fantasy/romance of sorts not a PURE romance. (Unlike KMM’s the highlander series-which is pure HEA and broody hot Keltar boys at the very core….)
So those who are UBER focused on Dani and Ryo hitting it (yea, I’m classy), is so odd to me. Because I don’t think Dani losing her virginity is the “heart” of these storylines. As Mac and Barrons finally doing the nasty wasn’t the focus of the fever series (although the build up to that was EPIC)

So- the “controversy.” Dani and Ryo. I truly do not believe that there is any “romance” between Ryo and Dani. I felt like Ryo was portrayed as more of a MENTOR or even father figure. Now, I don’t want to get ridiculous. Ryo is an evil, sexy butch dude who only loves himself. HOWEVER, I think he sees Dani as a weapon he can groom and use in the future. I don’t think he sees her as a play thing for himself. Ryo knows something we the readers don’t. Is Dani one of them? Is she an immortal who can die and come back to life? She is for sure something. And we know she has been on Ryo and his men’s radar since she was like 9.

So this is just IMO as everything else, and I am sure KMM is going throw a big HOLE in my theories as usual. But I think Dani’s book series is not about her HEA, or her finding a true romance. KMM has said she will lose her virginity. I am guessing it will be Dancer or Creepy Christian. (poor Chrisitian)

I felt the same way you did, but then I thought what the heck Karen wrote it so it has to be good. My god - I loved it. I read it faster than any other book in the series. I too wish that Dani were older and I really want her and Ryo to end up together, but time needs to fast forwards somehow so that she is older than 14. Trust in Karen and read it. If you liked the fever series, I promis you will like this book.

Whitney I definitely prefer Ryodan to Christian.

Adoore I thought ICE was awesome but I agree I would feel more comfortable if Dani was older. I do want Dani and Ryo to end up together they just sizzle.

Michielle I think she is going to fall in an IFP for a couple years. Maybe with Mac? It may only be a couple days here. Or maybe a couple months. Enough to get everyone worried.

Adoore That's what I was thinking as well Michielle.

Laura Northman I hope so!!!!

message 35: by Tina (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tina Glasneck I haven't read ICE yet, but now reading what you all are saying about Dani and Ryodan, I need to get it THIS WEEKEND!!! :)

I never need an excuse for a new book though. :)

Sahara i really think that ryo and dani will end up together for many reasons but most importantly miss KM keeps posting ryo's quotes on facebook...she only ever keeps doing this when that male is the love interest

Sahara oh also KM did say that Ryodan will eclipse Barrons...see!...that's a dead giveaway...Dani needs to go to fairyland soon

message 38: by Olya (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olya Yes Karen also said that Dani will lose her virginity around 17 I believe and I do think something will happen that will make Dani age. Honestly the whole book was basically clues and sexual frustration rolling off Ryodan. Karen did brilliantly narrating 14 year old Dani because while very experienced early in life, she's not emotionally mature. She gets mad about Ryodan and Jo for example but it's funny that she doesn't know why. I have faith in Karen and I rated this a 5. I'm definitely team Ryo and Dani! Amazing book. I'm so impatient for the next one!

Marie Hall I will not read this series until its over. Waiting a year in between each fever book just about sent me to the loony bin. But I can't stop reading spoilers either. :p Love anything and everything KMM.

I took ur advice Yvonne, and read ICED like a week and a half ago... I loved it! I could not put it down. I felt that what got me through was that Dani's "voice" was toned down a lot in comparison to the other fever books, and the other POV's u get helped a lot. But also cos during Dani's interactions with the other characters, whatever was happening was just interesting. And it kept me engaged. I don't think that I came across a slow spell in the book at all. Now, I hate that I have to wait so long for the next book. When I started reading the Fever series, all the first 5 books were already out, so I just bought them all at once. I didn't have to wait. Now I do. And it's going to kill me.
And I have to admit.. I'm still in love with Christian's crazy butt inspite of all that occurred in this book. *hides face*

I think Karen mentioned something about Christian having his own series or being in another one? Like the highlander series. He's definitely an important character, even if he doesn't end up with Dani. I like him too! He's just a little crazy right now lol.

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ Yeah, Christian came from her Highlander series, the MacKelters. Actually, I believe all his uncles' books are from her Highlander series. I think I've only read one maybe two books of her highlander novels, and I didn't read them in order. I'm not a big highlander fan. I've found a few gems in that genre, but I don't typically go searching for them.

Yes, my baby Christian is cray cray right now. Unfortunately I think it's only going to get worse.

It will get worse before it gets better which seems to be the usual in this series. I was going to read the highlander series. Are the books all just romance novels?

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ Yeah they're all romances for sure, but I've read you get more insight on the Fae in those books as well. since I didn't read them all I had no idea about the Fae etc.. when I started the Fever books. So alot of people who read all the highlander books 1st, caught onto a lot of things that I didn't, before their reveal in the Fever books.

Lexi ♥♥Kitty Noir♥♥ I tried to read the highlander books but could not get into them after reading the Fever series.

Yay !!! Me too...
Other readers tend to say that they found Ryo's attention to Dani in this book was more in the "Paternal" sense... I don't agree with it at all.. I was like "Are we not reading the same book here?"
