Book Haven discussion

My new SciFi short story (long short) is releasing tomorrow, August 1st, and I could really use some reviews. The book is "priced" at FREE and is a "prequel" to my novel Conditioned Response (I include the full first chapter of CondResp at the end of WMC as a teaser).


Interest in it so far has been really keen: in the first 24 hours it's been posted over at Smashwords, having been downloaded about 2 times an hour and saved to 11 Smashwords Libraries so far.

All popular formats (ePub, Kindle, PDF) are available FREE from Smashwords and the book has a page here on Goodreads already so you can shelve it here if you'd like to read/review it. I'd really appreciate having reviews both here and on Smashwords if you're interested in Classic Science Fiction Adventure stories.

So this is interesting. My dashboard at Smashwords tells me I've moved almost 200 copies of this free giveaway but I have just a handful of reviews. Oh and it's now uploaded to 3 other sites (including here at Goodreads) but still...just a few reviews.

It's actually shorter than I originally said (still 29,000 words but formatted single-spaced like a normal eBook PDF it's 50 pages not 85) and yet still a great little story. Anyone like Scifi? If you do, I'm sure you'll like this one. It's just a fun/interesting little story, like the classics they used to put into ANALOG Magazine.

Over 1000 copies moved in August (first month of release) and I'd loved to see another 500 go in September. This short story novella is still free through the month of October, actually, but then I'll start charging for it through the holiday season. Get it now while the getting's good! haha
