I love this quote from Lydia’s father. I feel like the best of parents want to raise their children for the world as it should be, and there lies a fine line between living in fantasy and preparing our children to be suited for the better world we hope to build. The past is full of life, eager to irritate us, provoke and insult us, tempt us to destroy or repaint it. The only reason people want to be masters of the future is to change the past.”
