“--- I’ve learned that it is possible to hold on to beliefs too tightly.  To "believe" something is not some kind of special accomplishment.  Beliefs, when held too tightly or overly cherished, can easily disintegrate into unexamined opinions that we refuse to reconsider or question.  Beliefs are so easy.  It is easy to forget that beliefs are usually just habitual or strongly held opinions. When we hold beliefs too tightly, we become less open to growing, learning, and expanding our perspectives.  Believing something too strongly can cause us to stop asking healthy questions, limit growth potential and keep us stuck in old paradigms.”
