Ludwig von Mises
“The worship of the state is the worship of force. There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than a government of incompetent, corrupt, or vile men. The worst evils which mankind ever had to endure were inflicted by bad governments. The state can be and has often been in the course of history the main source of mischief and disaster.”
Ludwig von Mises

Henry David Thoreau
“Let your life be a counter-friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn.”
Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience

“Ingratitude is a crime more despicable than revenge, which is only returning evil for evil, while ingratitude returns evil for good.”
William George Jordan

Peter S. Ruckman
“The Biblical rule is simple. If any verse in either Testament does not contradict or deny something found in a Pauline epistle it CAN be applied to a New Testament Christian. Hundreds of verses (mainly in the Proverbs, Psalms, Job, and Exodus) can be found in the Old Testament that are applicable to Christian belief and conduct, but once a verse is pulled out of even Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John that contradicts a Pauline doctrinal statement—did you get what I said? I said a “doctrinal” statement; I did NOT say “an inspirational” statement or a “devotional teaching”—it is to be judged in the light of Paul’s advanced revelations which Jesus Christ Himself said would be advanced revelations not given to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Don’t”
Peter S. Ruckman, Romans Commentary

Smedley D. Butler
“Victory or defeat will be determined by the skill and ingenuity of our scientists. If we put them to work making poison gas and more and more fiendish mechanical and explosive instruments of destruction, they will have no time for the constructive job of creating greater prosperity for all peoples.”
Smedley D. Butler, War Is a Racket
