Finally, a good one!

After my first reading session with this, at 7%, I was about to DNF because it was so much telling over showing. Fortunately it evened out immediately after that and returned to what I enjoyed about the prior volumes. I really like Jason’s personal journey and his irreverence, the banter with friends or enemies. It’s a damn long book though. I’ll break it up with others.

Fascinating and broadly applicable. This was one of the longest-serving books on my list awaiting a fee Kindle Unlimited trial, which I am now indulging in.

Of course she did. How else could she cast a spell to turn ghost-like unless naked? I have a feeling she’s not going to finish that state back where she hid her clothes.

She’s running around naked again.

Naked again, and if I'm reading this correctly, she cast a spell on her underwear (not currenlty worn) to give off light on command.

On page 44 the main character finally puts some clothes on. Don’t ask about all the things she did while still naked, like chopping wood.

Oops, I probably should have looked at the spine to see the “Young Adult” library sticker before now. I don’t know if I should continue (it’s not that bad but it is definitely YA and more romance/coming of age than horror) or just skip to the end to see the very obvious big reveal.

Thought this was horror, not romance.
