This is rambly, and I don’t think it really captures the Lovecraftian tone it uses as the source of its horror. But I still find it enjoyable so far. The Midwest simply is a different kind of bleak than New England, which I think it does a good job depicting but not so much in connecting.

I understand both 1) why this is considered a classic and 2) why people says this is a drawn out short story
