What I don't buy is that Mr. I Don't Want to Make You a Six is perfectly willing to risk getting caught & turning her into an Eight (beggar) with hands destroyed by a caning. It was one thing before the public display of what happens when you get caught with a guard, but Aspen saw that & still will risk it. He's not as willing to keep her safe as she thinks he is.

I like how Maxon's done nothing but prove how much he wants her, while America is hot & cold with him, but she's the one who's always sure he's rejecting her.

I was questioning the name Officer Woodwork, and then I remembered the MC's name is America. Right, this series. Anyway, that scene was intense.
