I think I must have posted my review right at the same time as your comment. I ended up liking the book a lot. She's quirky but I liked it.

Have you read Josi's culinary mysteries? Those are really fun. The main character Sadie is a homemaker who loves to bake and happens to use her baking and observational skills and it tends to get her in the midst of everything. They were fun, cozy murder mystery books.
