I’m realizing that Father Brown (the tv series), is giving me motivation and helping to strengthen my faith. The Catholic faith is also super fascinating (I’m Protestant), and the stories portray it well! I would definitely recommend this series—both book and tv—to anyone and everyone! You don’t have to be just Christian to watch it, it’s for everyone, whether some out there might realize or not.

Kate Willis I haven't watched the show, but I loved the books and just about everything else G.K. Chesterton has written. He has been an invaluable influence on my Christian life.

He's an awesome author! I mean, Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were influenced by him! Very complex, but very insightful! You need to watch the shows!

Mary Herceg I've been meaning to try reading G.K. Chesterton for years, and I'm finally about to read one or two of his in the next few months/this year! Father Brown is one of the ones I'm going to try first. :D I think I'll like GKC.

Oh he’s a great author! A bit complex and hard to understand, but his stories are, overall, entertaining and theologically sound. I would highly recommend him!!

Awesome!! You're not the first friend to recommend him. :D He sounds amazing! I'm not going to try his denser works - I'm starting with Father Brown, heehee. And The Ballad of the White Horse. :)

My dad has read his denser works and said I would be better off sticking with Father Brown, and his plays 😂

Mary Herceg @Amariah, yes! I couldn't get into The Ball and the Cross when I tried it years ago (the first chapter or two confused me), but I'd like to try again someday. It's just not the right one to read first!! :)

This is Chesterton's main theological book.
A special preparation for reading it isn't needed. :)

He did believe in the sanctity of marriage and of childbirth. And did not believe in abortion. He was more of a moderate, neither very liberal nor very conservative but he was strong in the faith. It’s a bit hard for us in America to judge him on his politics, since politics in England are so different than they are here. Otherwise, I’ve heard The Everlasting Man is very good!
