About 5K words in on the 1st draft - in chapters, broken bits and pieces as the initial shape of the story begins to form.
Unfortunately and quite tragically, I got caught up with confirming a few things yesterday then fell down the Youtube rabbit hole. (laugh)
Exploring my world the whole week to have some peace and quiet before school ends for the summer then back to work Saturday.

I am now 38,000+ words in and will likely finish it in August; however, as I wanted to give myself a little extra time to see where these new thoughts lead, I've pushed the official release date forward to September 12th.
Still, me being me, I may very well pull the trigger before then.
So where were we?
Ah yes....
Eunuch Kwang's plan for revenge, while it seemed to be going to plan...at first, has hit a new, very big snag…or should I say SNAGS. As his final bid for escape from China is completely derailed by an unexpected revelation and his entire reality as he knows it proven a lie, will Kwang make a reckless decision that has the potential to endanger not only our star-crossed lovers but himself and those they care about? Or will he leave it up to fate?
(If you have ever read me at all, I think you know the answer to that question.)
And while both Lady Xian and Commander Ishikawa, each in their own way, decide to try their hardest to make the best of a far from ideal situation, when Kenji's behavior takes a turn for the unexpected, just as Xian thinks she has a handle on both who he really is and her feelings for him, she may just find out that she really doesn't know him at all.
As the truth about the life Kenji left behind in Japan is slowly revealed, will Xian have the strength to stand by his side? Or will she choose to keep both her own head and heart intact instead?
Even then, as Xian and Kenji fight to navigate these troubling new waters in Japan, yet another even bigger storm is forming back in the lands they left behind.
New revelations regarding the events that lead up to Xian's confrontation with Lady Lai and the ripple effects of Lai's betrayal reach far and wide.
As the new empresses’ claws sink deeper and deeper into Emperor Shay’s heart and mind and the ripples turn into a tidal wave, the stage for the final explosive book in this trilogy is set (which I’ll likely start on soon after I finish this one. Notice I said START.)
