Hello Ms. Arzu, I just want to say that I really enjoyed your books. You have a way with telling a story that sucks you right in which is what happened to me. I ended up reading all three in record time. It's been a year since book 3 of the Merfolk Tale was released. Are you working on something new or book 4? I'm looking forward to your next book whatever it may be. :)

I'm currently working on the fourth book, and although I intend to release it in October, it might take a little while more. It's certainly growing far more than I anticipated XD

Undertow - A Merfolk Legacy will center around Julian, The City, the UN talks, and what happens when family and enemies collide.

Thank you for such enthusiastic review! When I started writing this series, I was concerned it might not have an audience because it doesn't have romance as its central point (barely at all by the third book), so three years later, it's nice to know people do find that as a plus ;)

I'm aiming for one or two more books, depending on how cooperative The City wants to be, really... it's probably going to be next year before I release the next book, though. Merfolk love to complicate things, as you may have noticed.

The third merfolk book is great! ... So, when is the next one coming out? ;-)
M.N. Arzu I'm thrilled you liked it!! There are plans and plots floating around, so it might be some time before we get back to the seas with the merfolk. There's certainly plenty to tell still, though, so rest assure I will come back with another book :D

Do you have a release date yet for the third Under novel?

Around the end of April, at the latest :) I'll be releasing excerpts and other character related information during March, so you can be on the lookout for those, too.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
M.N. Arzu Ah, that one's easy: my mother's last name is "de Guise", meaning it comes from the House of de Guise in France. About a hundred years ago, for some reason, my mother's great-grandfather came to America without leaving any trace to his decision. Was he running away from trouble? A family dispute? The impulse of adventure? Why leave France and come to a tiny country in the Americas?

It's a mystery we haven't been able to discover, and it has plenty of drama to make a compelling story.

How do you get inspired to write?
M.N. Arzu Usually by reading or watching other stories. Maybe a statue. Maybe a sentence in a song. Once I have a strong sense of a scene, I build the whole story all around it.

What are you currently working on?
M.N. Arzu The Under Series, a trilogy of books detailing the lives of a merfolk family living on the surface, hiding in plain sight.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
M.N. Arzu Write. It doesn't matter if it won't see the light of day, every word you write, is one more towards becoming a good writer.

M.N. Arzu Meeting my characters.

When is your next book coming out?
M.N. Arzu I'm about to finish my next novel, and plans for the pre-release are already being organized. All in all, in the next couple of months. Thank you for asking!

How do you deal with writer’s block?
M.N. Arzu I switch to another story. I'm usually working in one main project, a middle size project, and couple of smaller ideas.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
M.N. Arzu I had a very clear scene in my mind about a guy behind a glass cell looking into the eyes of his wife, and I wanted to know how he had landed there and what he wanted to say to her.
