Thank you so much for the compliment and the question! Sorry it took so long to answer. :) "The Paper" eBook is available for preorder now on Amazon, with the paperback and hardcover versions launching Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 as well. Working on creating the Goodreads page for it right now.

Hello! Humbled and very embarrassed that you saw my film more than once! It was a project I wrote and directed as a four-part public access series, using unpaid friends as actors and (obviously) a budget of $0. It was kind of an offshoot of my previous public access series "Studentangle" which I created based on my 2000-2001 daily comic strip of the same name in The State News (back when it was a daily paper).
I keep saying one of these days I'm going to release The Bells of Beaumont Tower on YouTube in its original four-part format, but I want to "remaster" it a bit to make it less grainy first (it was shot on a $400 camcorder, after all.) So, stay tuned.
I run a design and marketing firm these days which definitely produces a lot of video work, but rarely in the creative fiction arena. You can find a couple old short films of mine on the WJKLATV channel on YouTube ("Sound" and "Hola! Soy Evil" are fun), or if you want to see the OTHER thing I made devoted to Beaumont Tower, search for "Bells: The True Story of McPherson's Retirement". Fair warning, though: it won't make any sense if you're not familiar with Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Thanks for writing!

I remember Studentangle too! I'll search up Bells. Gotta know the true story of his retirement. Definitely keep me posted on anything fun I should see

The Eaton was actually taken from a remarkably vivid nightmare I had a few years back. Unlike most dreams which fade quickly once logic returns upon waking, this dream had a few moments that left me scared out of my mind and made it impossible to go back to sleep. I jotted down three things I best remembered from the nightmare, and made sure all three of those "scenes" made it into the novel in one way or another.
The novel I'm currently writing, The Paper, is far more autobiographical, and I expect whole chapters to be taken directly from memory. With a twist, of course.

I'm actually not sure I've ever had "writer's block" in the traditional sense. I tend to have a great many ideas bubbling up all at once, so knowing which ones NOT to develop is the bigger challenge.
It helps to have to create stories nearly every day as well. For nearly five years, I've told my daughter a nightly bedtime story off the top of my head -- and for the last three years, it's been an ongoing 500+ part saga called "Bob and the Birds." With over three dozen recurring characters, talking animals, and magical elements, it's pretty easy to create new tales every night without repeating myself. Usually I'll weave in some sort of lesson that relates to things she experienced during the day, but sometimes it's just an excuse to be silly and make her laugh.
