I would travel to Oz, preferably not from inside a tornado, and skip through the daisy fields.

Hello - Chrystyna - Thank you so much for your interest in my novel. I am thrilled. I did go to amazon.de and found my book. I typed in my name - Pamela Allegretto - and the Title - Bridge of Sighs and Dreams - and it came up in both places. I have had you book - No Man's Land - on my "to-read" list for a while and I look forward to the read. It seems we have the same interest. Best wishes!

Hi - John - Thank you again for the lovely review. I appreciate your kindness and generosity. I am so pleased that you enjoyed reading Bridge of Sighs and Dreams. My work-in-progress is a complete departure from war-torn Italy. The only similarity is that it takes place in Italy: this time it's modern-day Venice. It's a not-to-serious diamond caper with a cast of quirky characters who spill out of the proverbial clown car in search of stolen diamonds.

I try to assume each character. That's part of the fun. While writing Bridge of Sighs and Dreams, Lidia, affected me most. To think that such an immoral character lurked somewhere in my psyche was more than a little unsettling. And the idea that I actually enjoyed getting into her head and writing her odious words and deeds, well…

I am currently reading Voice of the Violin by Andrea Camilleri. It is his 4th book in the Inspector Montalbano series. After that, I have 66 books to choose from on my to-read list. So it looks to be a busy summer: reading, painting, and completing (hopefully) my next novel.

Our family ghost, Caius. He is a Roman soldier over 2,000-years-old, who resides in the family farmhouse in Southern Italy. Yes, he's real. In addition to multiple personal sightings and listening to him march back and forth at the foot of the steps every night, all night, I have captured him in a photo: complete with helmet, chest-plate, greaves, sword, and shield.

I am biased, and I must name my own characters, Angelina and Pietro Rosini, from my novel Bridge of Sighs and Dreams. Their mutual devotion, respect, and shared dream that propelled them to survive Nazi occupation and incarceration are a testimony to the power of love.

While growing up, I always hated listening to jokes about the Italians going into World War 2 with their hands raised. This was not at all the case, and I wanted to point out the bravery of the Italian population during this horrific time. Although Bridge of Sighs and Dreams is fiction, It is based on real events. I felt compelled to write a war novel in which the women don't play the role of wallpaper or objects of amusement to soldiers and politicians. The women in Bridge of Sighs and Dreams take center stage in a behind the lines battle between good and evil.

I’m Italian. I come from a family of storytellers. It’s in my blood. My problem is that there are too many stories I want to tell, and not enough time left to tell them.

After having spent the last several years in war-torn Italy, I am now writing a not-too-serious diamond heist caper that takes place in Venice.

Equip yourself with good books on grammar, punctuation, and style. Read what you love, write what you feel, and never give up.

The delight in using my imagination to create something from nothing that hopefully entertains the reader.

If I find myself stuck in a plot situation, rather the toil over what my immediate characters will say or do next, I switch my focus to what could happen, or what I want to happen, to the other characters as a result.
