Hi Amelie,
Those stories are out of circulation for the moment, but I may eventually bring them back in some form.

You must have a very old copy of Beast. :) I guess there are still a few floating around out there with the wrong book 2 listed; the current ones don’t have that. I believe I intended for Stroke of Eleven to be book 2 right after I published Beast, but that was only my plan for about a month or so before I switched to the current order. The books were written in the order which the series currently reflects. As to why I made that decision, I believe it was to improve the character arcs, though it’s been a long time so I can’t say for sure.

No, he doesn’t. :)

It was delayed due to the pandemic. There have been some changes with regard to my publication plans for the Blackfire stories which I’m not quite ready to announce yet.

Probably fifteen, though it may end up being a little more or less than that.

Westenra is definitely in the works. I'm currently eyeing this winter as a potential timeframe for release, but I need to get a few other projects nailed down before I can really dig into that book. I expect it will be released by February 2020 at the latest.

The Strange Cases of Beaumont and Beasley and The Fall of Beaumont and Beasley (Beaumont and Beasley Books 5 and 6).

Hi Ilja! Thanks so much for your interest in my books. I'm afraid that I'm currently restricted from publishing my ebooks outside Amazon, due to the constraints of the Kindle Unlimited contract and the revenue I depend on from KU page-reads. That said, I am open to leaving KU and publishing on other platforms in the future, should there be enough demand outside of Amazon. I have worked with other ebook sellers before, but was obliged to restrict my sales to Amazon because of poor sales on those sites. This is probably something I will re-evaluate going into 2020 based on sales and reader feedback.

Sorry for how long it's taken me to answer this question! I do outline quite a bit, yes--I think I'd be in serious trouble if I didn't. :D However, one of my mottos is never to let an outline get in the way of a good story, so I try to leave room for surprises in my outlines in order to avoid hampering my creativity.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this question! Actually, the Beaumont connection was a happy accident. I first came up with "Beaumont" while playing around with the phrase "Beauty and the Beast" on paper to brainstorm a title for a fairytale fantasy series. I liked the way "Beaumont and Beasley" echoed the title of the original story, so I went with it. I didn't really think about the link to the original author until much later. It turned out to be very convenient. :D

Either January or February 2019. It's actually going to be my NaNoWriMo project this year. I had a draft started a few months back, but decided to take a different approach with the POV, so I'm scrapping it and starting from scratch.

I don't really enjoy writing outside the fantasy genre. I do have other ideas in the pipeline, but they're all Afterverse projects.

We thought we’d destroyed them when we smashed all the mirrors.

I think I'd go to the Harry Potter universe, specifically around Newt Scamander's time, and start my own collection of magical creatures. Then, by the time the Harry Potter era rolls around, I will have an army ready to fight Voldemort and usurp Dumbledore. (Just to be clear, I am envisioning myself as an immortal wizard unbound by time and space here.) 😄

How I manage to keep setting my reading glasses down and then forgetting where I put them three seconds later. I think I could adapt this into a YA dystopian trilogy.

Definitely Eugene and Rapunzel from Tangled. Their chemistry is fantastic, and their love story is beautifully crafted. It's neither a typical "guy saves girl" story or a revisionist "girl saves guy" story. They essentially save each other. Each of them gets a chance to be amazing.

When I first watched the stellar Disney film "Tangled," I asked myself, "What if Disney had applied the same clever, light-hearted tone to Beauty and the Beast?" That's how the storyline and main characters of The Beast of Talesend eventually came to be. I honestly don't remember what sparked the post-fairy-tale premise of the Beaumont and Beasley series in my head. But the atmosphere of the books' universe, as well as the various monsters and mind-bending plot twists Nick and Cordelia face, are heavily influenced by Doctor Who.

Partly by reading stories I liked, and partly by reading ones I didn't. I was eager to emulate authors who did a great job with their fiction, and to improve on certain mistakes I found writers making frequently.

Whatever your idea is, get it down on paper, and get it out there somehow.. You won't know whether people will like your stories or not if you're the only one who reads them. I'm not saying you should publish on Kindle right away. I'd advise starting out by posting on a writing group like Scribophile, or on Wattpad (which is like YouTube for fiction). This can bolster your skills and confidence enough to take you to the next step of selling your stories.

Writers, in my opinion, have the best job in the world. What other occupation requires you to craft worlds and characters for a living? Personally, I can't think of anything more rewarding.
