From the real-life stories of people suffering with this terrible disease. I think most healthy people try to avoid thinking about pain, suffering and death, but for me the thoughts help me appreciate each and every day. You never know what can happen, life's fragility is mind-boggling. I want to live each day appreciating the beauty in the world.

Don't fucking wallow, act. If you want to be a writer, you must write. Don't hop on Twitter and complain about not writing. Just write. And invest in yourself. Seriously. When you publish, you're going to ask EVERYONE to commit their time to reading your work. The least you can do if you're asking THEM to invest in YOU is to invest in yourself. Pay an editor to tear your first draft to pieces, re-write and then do it again. If you think WRITING is hard, wait until you Rewrite.

My blocks tend not to last long. I have little games that my husband got me for Christmas which I use to spur my creativity. Or I read. Which one I use depends on what kind of block I have. For example, if I'm looking for a profession for a character, I use the games. If I'm searching the manuscript for "look" because I use it too much during dialogue scenes, I'll read how other authors deal with it.
