Hi RJ! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the book! And those are both excellent questions. Maybe you can tell your wife the book is funny and that there is some travel and adventure and history. And, maybe I'm biased, but I found the history of nudism to be completely fascinating.
As for question number two. Well, my wife became something of the hero of the story in a way, a lot of people relate to her reluctance and ultimate good-sports(wo)manship. It wasn't easy to convince her at first, but I promised to make it fun, and neither of us had ever been on a cruise ship, so she didn't want to miss that. Ultimately she had a good time and it's great to share an adventure with your partner. Now she enjoys coming along on my research trips! But it was a process. Good luck!

Wow! Thanks for that. I am just finishing a new nonfiction book, although it has fictional sections (it's complicated and weird), and as soon as that is figured out... I'm starting a new novel. It's about the grocery business!

I'm looking forward to reading Janelle Brown's new book, Watch Me Disappear; Elif Batuman's The Idiot; and Woman #17 by Edan Lepucki. And I'm going to read more of Mario Vargas Llosa's books (because I'm going to Peru in the fall). Those are the fiction titles so far. I don't know what nonfiction I'll read yet, but at least one or two.

Right now I'm going through the final proofreading stage for my new nonfiction book, Naked at Lunch: A Reluctant Nudist's Adventures in an Anti-Textile World. The book is scheduled to be published in July 2015 so.... keep your pants on.
