Percival Constantine Ah, I see, you're asking about it on Goodreads. It's not up here, but I will add it when I have some free time, hopefully later this week.
Percival Constantine Hi Linda,

Are you referring to The Wild Hunt? It's an exclusive short story for mailing list subscribers. If you subscribed and you haven't received it, please message me directly and I'll see that you do.
Percival Constantine Wow, that's a good question. Non-romantic, I'd say Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural. I love how perfectly they play off each other. Romantic couple, maybe Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson for the same reason.
Percival Constantine Good question. It's hard to say in hindsight but I think I'd have to go with The Myth Hunter. There's something about the interaction between those characters that just writes itself.
Percival Constantine Depends. Sometimes I need to change gears and focus on a different project. Sometimes I need to just power through it and put one word after another, no matter how hard it is. And sometimes I just need to take a break and play a video game where I can vent my frustrations by blowing stuff up.
Percival Constantine Being free from the oppression of pants.
Percival Constantine First, don't obsess over making one story perfect, just finish it, give it a few extra passes after getting comments from editors and beta-readers, and then move onto the next story. Second, while you don't have to break the bank to publish your book, you also shouldn't half-ass it. And third, take all writing advice (especially mine) with a very large grain of salt.
Percival Constantine Right now I'm working on a few different things. I've got a Sinbad story I'm writing for Airship 27, and I'm also writing a series called Luther Cross for the Pro Se Single Shot Signatures line.

As far as my self-published work goes, I'm working on Vanguard, a superhero series. Each entry will be a 15,000-word novelette and I hope to have all five entries (plus a bonus entry for mailing list subscribers) completed before they become available for sale. At the moment, I've finished #1-2 and the bonus story, so three to go before it'll be available.

I've also begun plotting out the next books in my two existing series—The Curse of the Necronomicon (The Myth Hunter) and Gentleman Rogue (Infernum).
Percival Constantine Inspiration can come from anywhere. I don't really do anything special. I'll see something that gives me the inkling of an idea, jot it down in my notebook, and either expand on it at a later time or nothing will ever come of it. When I'm in the planning stage, I've started using Blake Snyder's beat sheet method from Save the Cat, and it's helped me nail down some of the main beats of the story.
Percival Constantine SoulQuest actually began life years ago as a planned comic book series. Unfortunately it never quite panned out, but the idea stuck with me. It originally began when an artist approached me about working on a project, and his style reminded me of some of the PlayStation RPGs I loved, like Final Fantasy VII and Xenogears. So I looked to them as my inspiration, creating a fantasy world and populating it with characters that would fit into that same kind of style.
