First, don't obsess over making one story perfect, just finish it, give it a few extra passes after getting comments from editors and beta-readers, and then move onto the next story. Second, while you don't have to break the bank to publish your book, you also shouldn't half-ass it. And third, take all writing advice (especially mine) with a very large grain of salt.
