Because the radiation dissipated. With the right people in control, they worked to get that done. Before that time, the Gatekeeper benefitted from the presence of the radiation, so he made sure it stayed. I didn't mention the removal of the radiation because it happened long before the Oculus Gate story.

I never plan ahead. I always make up the story as I go along. I doubt that one method is truly better than the other. It's just that going on the journey with the characters works better for me.

I also recently finished an adult historical thriller set in 1860 Paris called "Let the Ghosts Speak." My agent is seeking a publisher for that novel.
